Any Oiler fans out there surely remember the old Fight song. "Cuz were the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers Number 1" Well, T-Pain has taken it and WRECKED IT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RahX6f-47yE
I always ... ALWAYS hated that song. Even when I was rooting for the Oilers in the "Luv Ya Blue" days... even then, I hated that song.
Huh. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/njHmtjzn3TI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/njHmtjzn3TI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> You mean to tell me PA announcers copy successful gimmicks off one another? I'll believe anything now. "We Will Rock You" was still written by Allen Leavell, though, right? Wikipedia: Dolphins Fight Song Wikipedia: Luv Ya Blue
What kills me is that with as many musicians being part-owners on that Dolphins team, they can't come up with something new. But I guess they went back to it for historical reasons. Being an Oiler fan, that's going to make me ill if I hear it. Of course I don't follow the NFL, so maybe I won't hear it.
Eh, whatever. I always preferred "Luv Ya Blue" (sung to the tune of Love Me Do by the Beatles) anyway. Anyone remember that one?
Everyone over the age of 35 that was even remotely an Oiler's fan remembers that one. Even my parents remember that.
The guy that wrote it tried selling it to every NFL team, the Dolphins and Oilers are the only ones that payed for it. So neither team stole it, they just bought it from the same place.
Was wondering what happened there. I knew they both used the song but didn't know who had it first. Good way to make a song timeless and classic is to have T-PAIN jack with it.
no, the guy who wrote the song offered it to all the afl teams and only two teams used it - miami and houston
dude should be embarrassed. First, it sounds like it's coming out of a toy radio (that autotune stuff is really out of hand). Second, why clone a song that was bad and not unique 35 years ago? Let me get this straight. Dude can't sing. Dude doesn't play any instruments. Dude can't write a song. But somehow dude is a performer? What a joke.
You know the original writer of that song wrote a version for every AFL team and both the Oilers and Dolphins bought it. No one stole anything from the Dolphins. From John McClain's blog: In case you didn't know, the reason the Dolphins and Oilers had the same fight song all those decades is because the man who wrote it offered it to every AFL team, and both of them accepted it and used it. Obviously, the Dolphins are the only team to use it now.
You just summed up all pop music. ...and rap.... ...really, you summed up about 98% of modern music. Sad, isn't it?
Yeah, but do they remember "Snakebite"? It was about Kenny Stabler. And what about "Super Bowl Itch"? Bonus points if you can name who sang that one.
