I have a phone that is about 3 years old. My contract is expired for T-Mobile and I REALLY need to get a new phone.

Do you guys have any good choices I can pick for a phone? For most phones, you NEED internet and I'm hoping you guys can give me the best phone that DOES NOT need internet. Thanks.

Most, it not all phones do not require internet.

I know they used to make you sign up for a data plan when you would purchase a phone from them, however it wasn't required for the two years. You could call them and cancel your data plan essentially after you leave the store. I would talk to a sales rep to make sure this is still how it works.

Go to a Tmobile store or Best Buy, they generally are very helpful

I'd recommend going to those third party vendors that usually sell services and handsets from multiple carriers. You can usually get better deals on phones and convince them to throw in some accessories for free.

I will always buy unlocked phones from now on. You pay more upfront but from T-Mobile you get a lower monthly rate AND no contract.

You get a better phone also.

I'm kind of anti-smartphones, so I'm with you. I got a Nokia 5310, which is basically a music phone (pretty similar to an iPod Nano) and I'm very happy with it. You can still find them in some stores if you ask for them, but they've kind of replaced it with the Nokia 5130.

I've heard the 5130 is also a great phone, and it's pretty close, but most people like the 5310 more.

    That's my personal suggestion.

Thanks guys. I'm kind of frustrated, I've checked with T-Mobile at a local Mall and they always say you need internet for phones such as the HTC Touch Pro2, and more such as the Mytouch.

I should just get an unlocked phone but don't seem to find many great deals.

Buy the phone with the biggest resale value (see Ebay) and then sell it and buy whatever one you want unlocked while profiting =)

I just bought a Nokia E72, it is way sleeker and more powerful than any of the phones you just listed. And for 10 bucks a month the T-zones service provides full internet.

Had it since release day (well ordered it on release day anyway :D). Great phone and should get better when the OTA Update rolls out and gives it 120+MB more of ram...

As for current phones on T-Mobile

    Windows Mobile:
    HTC HD2>Touch Pro 2

    Android:
    Nexus One>Mytouch 3g>Cliq/Behold 2

Also worth noting that T-Mobile may get the iPhone in the summer but don't count on it.

    HD2 in March: http://www.slashgear.com/t-mobile-htc-hd2-in-march-mytouch-slide-may-17th-2070635/

Didn't read it there but it's all over

so what would you rate the phone? Tmobile has been pretty nice and said we dont need a specific Nexus one plan but we can just add it to a Family plan which is pretty cool.

Do you regret buying it at all?

the only thing i hate about is the music player, it sucks and i was hoping google woulda changed that around, are there any good aps that change it?
