Everything about it is awesome except for the OS. The OS is the deal killer here (even though HTC did an awesome job of trying to make it as usabe as possible.) I just wouldn't be able to take windows mobile again (had a T-mobile wing for a while.) It was tough resisting that awesome hardware though.

I'd stick with android or the Iphone.

Release likely around June or July of 2010.

Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 4g... in HD!!

Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4G and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network. The new iPhone 4g is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat, multi-tasking and extreme downloading.

Are you sure? I read somewhere and someone on this site posted that windows 7 would not be included on the hd2?

I can't get into XDA devs right now (service maintenance) to see if there's been a ROM released already but from google all I can tell is that some guys have ported it. Appears to still be pretty laggy and buggy but this is progress.

If there is a full and actual port I'm in.

one of my coworkers got it over the weekend, and its pretty flipping sweet and hella fast, he's already put his own homebrews he's found and pretty sure he's going to port it to an Android once one is released

he got it over at the 59/buffalo speedway location on Saturday, but then again, he used to work for Tmobile and had connections to get his.

I don't peruse xda that often, but I remember being told that windows 7 mobile will be a drm nightmare. Windows 6.5 will be the last good os though for what reasons I am not too sure of.

Shameless plug: I work at Best Buy Mobile in the Woodlands Mall and as of yesterday when I clocked out, we still had 2. We were the only store in the city with any in stock. Give them a call if you want it - 281-419-4036. Same price as T-Mobile... $199 with upgrade.

I don't see the point wasting money on a nice hardware with pretty a crappy 6.5 OS. If the Windows Phone 7 could be ported onto the HD2, it's worth the risk. Just have to wait and find out if this is real or fake...

Fwiw, HTCs sense ui integration works really really really well with windows mobile. No slowdown or sluggishness, really impressive.

But yeah, not being series 7 is the only downside.

They had this last year before the 3Gs came out... a similar picture from rumors.. it's all BS. Multitasking, video chat, and HD resolution will never come on the iPhone until they learn they're getting beat. Also... it's too early for 4G, AT&T isn't even close to 4G yet.

Not positive but I think the 4G stands for 4th Generation iPhone and not necessarily 4G connection. Anyways, tried to see if I could order the HD2 from tmobile.com but it seems to be sold out there too.

Just a FYI, they mean 4th gen, not 4g as in better/faster signal.
