    yah, for who?

    kobe?
    lebron ?
    wade?
    cp3?
    AI?

Those are the only players that are better than him and none of those teams would trade for him.

    Please refer to my siggy.

Wait for his contract to expire and look to sign another franchise type player. He's not going anywhere.

I think if Head and Wafer are taking his minutes, we can indeed get worse.

Tmac will most likely play out his contract.

It wouldnt make sense to trade him because at best you get an overpaid player like Shawn Marion because of Tmacs inconsistentcy and injuries plus salaries having to match. All Marion gives you is one year early of cap relief since his contract expires at the end of this year.

Problem with that is the big names become free agents the summer Tmac's contract expires so having the space a year early doesnt help you much. I think its safe to say, most fans would rather have Tmac for another year and then have the money to legitimately offer a max deal to Lebron, Wade, or Bosh in 2010 then to dump Tmac and have his 20 million available this summer for the Ben Gordon's of the world.

Is this the last year of TMac's contract? If it is don't trade him and let the contract end without having to take on years of some else's contract.

News flash. We're not getting Wade or Lebron or even Pierce. Bosh isn't worth that much money.

Take the hit now. We suck with him anyway.

would be great if we could trade him for fair value...

but that doesn't look likely... so I can only hope the Rockets staff heads, DM, RA, open there eyes and find the temerity to move him to the bench..

Please stop with this "refer to my siggy" crap in every thread..........these are "ROCKETS" fans, not just Tmac fans, people want what's best for the team and a beaten down injury riddled player who has never won anything significant might not be whats best for the team.

If Tmac played up to his ability these threads wouldn't even be here......you can't have your top dollar guy going 2-14, 1-11, or 0-5. Each passing year Tracy's good night or getting few and further apart.....and his bad nights are getting worse and worse. He's a player that's breaking down right infront of our eyes so naturally people are going to talk about trading him.

    kobe
    lebron
    wade
    cp3

That are better than Tracy McGrady.

I really like TMac, and I am a supporter of him... but I would've done that Billups & Prince/Wallace trade in a heartbeat, back in the summer.

Thing is those packages were not good enough for Morey, because he knows TMac is way more valuable then them. We saw how valuable he was in the Celtics & Portland game, when he was taking over late in the stretch and everyone else was playing like crap.

TMac, when he's on, can take over a game and carry the team on his back. You can't really say anybody else could do what TMac is capable of doing late in games. Big Shot Billups is arguable, but I'd take TMac everytime when it comes to crunch time.

I've always been a fan of the Rockets, but I never payed much attention to the team until we drafted Yao.
It's Yao's 7th season now, T-Mac's 5th (with the Rockets). I have, as I'm sure all of you have, witnessed the gradual improvement of a once lottery team.

    Here's my point though:

In those 6 seasons, try to evaluate our team compared to the following teams:

    HOU Rockets:
    '02 lottery team
best finish: 1st round exit of playoffs '08
    span of 6 seasons

    NOH Hornets
    '05 lottery team
best finish: 2nd round exit of playoffs '08
    span of 3 seasons

    CLE Cavaliers
    '03 lottery team
best finish: NBA Finals loss '07
    span of 4 seasons

    LAL Lakers
    '04-'05, new era of a Shaq-less team
best finish: NBA Finals loss '08
    span of 4 seasons

    BOS Celtics
    '07 lottery team
    best finish: NBA Champions '08
    span of 1 season

Now how come Boston gets to go from having the second-worst record in the league to NBA Champs in one season? Ugh, it's so unfair... but anyway...

This is why the media is bullying, doubting, and laughing at the Rockets all the time.
Yes, I'm tired of all Tony Kornheisers out there who do nothing but criticize this team, but I hate to say this, they're dead-on.

Rockets fans: All of you who are so clung on to T-Mac, who are defending your hero from all the "haters"... We're not going to win a championship with him. So go ahead. Buy his swingman jersey. Heck, buy his authentic jersey. He'll just spend the money on 25k technicals that he doesn't care about. Just don't complain about the Rockets not making it to the Finals.

Here we are with a potential championship team that is probably going to be at .500 ten games into the season, and it already seems as if the Yao-Tracy-Ron experiment has failed. Yes, this may be a premature analysis, but it hurts watching teams like the Lakers, Hornets, and Celtics, the teams I listed above, to all be winning. We're already playing catchup... again...

We have to depend on Rafer Alston to win against a Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli-less team? My best guess is, if Rafer did play, we probably still would have lost.

Okay... guilty as charged, I'm playing devil's advocate.

But seriously... what's wrong with this team???

T-Mac will not be traded... so I can only hope he'll pick up his game, and play consistently.

Look on it on the bright side though: if chemistry and/or injuries ruin us this season, we don't have a 1st round pick this year! Yay!

I'm curious how you could put so much faith in a guy who's never won a playoff series in seven tries? Just what has holding on to that "value" gotten us?
