Has anyone seen T-Mac around Houston? I hear he's been hittin the gym a lot, jw if anyone has actually seen it?
i think it has been reported that hes been a bit more motived this offseason since the trade and such, but i havent seen any individual accounts of what hes actually doing. as far as i know physically.....hes participating in an amateur softball league. also, dont think i should start a new thread about this, but does anyone know if Boki is a member of the Slovenian national team. thanks in advance.
Ive seen him out at Red Door and Copa Room here in Houston every weekend for the last 6 weeks. I doubt he is on the team, unless he is practicing with the team via satellite.
Boki is a member of the Slovenian National team but they did not qualify this year for Athens. I think they came up one game short in the qualifying tournament held last Summer.
geze, you would think Boki and TMac's popularity was switched when you see 90% of the posts about Boki in a TMac thread.
You gotta remember, Boki is the only untouchable player on the Rockets...a fan favorite, a houston icon.
I don't get all the Boki hype either. I remember last year before the season started the 610 guys giving Boki rave reviews and expecting big things from him. They talked about his leaping ability and killer three point shot. Other than the block on Malone, that's the only great jump I've seen from him. And as far as his shooting is concerned, 36% from long range aint bad, but 35% overall...well geez Francis shot a higher percentage than that...
I think T-Mac complements Boki's game well. They both like the up and down tempo of the game. When Boki penetrades and gets triple-teamed, he can dish it out to T-mac for a three most of the times. I think T-Mac is the perfect side-kick for Boki. Yao on the other hand, is a pretty good trade bait. We can get a decent point guard like Rafer Alston if we trade Yao(their salaries do match), and Alston has the skills to set Boki up well in JVG's offense.
This is going to be Boki's break out season. He is my dark horse. He will come into his own this season. We will be embarrased by what he will do for us this season. He will hussle, nail open shots, rebound consistently well, finish break with relative disregard for human rights and play defense like Detlef.
I hope we trade Boki just because I am so tired of hearing his damn name in every damn thread. This guy is not that damn good.
I hope he does all that, but that's what they all said last year, and his rookie year, and if he doesn't do it this year, people will say it again next year. BTW, why are we gonna be embarrassed if he plays like a MVP?
Why? Because he doesn't play enough minutes. There NBA players all over the place making millions playing even less.
