I was on T-Mac's website and i saw he wrote a message for his fans regarding his recent injury. I thought it was good to hear something from him and i thought i would share.... To my fans: Just wanted to let everyone know that my back is doing fine and it’s not the same injury as earlier in the year. Things are better than they looked last night and I’m ok. Thanks for your concerns and I will be back soon. T-Mac http://www.t-mac.com/tmac2/main.html
tmac has that care, that passion for his fans like nobody else. most of the people might say he has no heart, but like droxford said, he has a heart of a champion! this season might have been a disaster, but he hasnt given up. and i dont think yao and jvg has either. lookin for a way better 2nd half of the season for the rocs!
Let me say something about McGrady. I've been able to see him in person twice for a fair amount of time- once at his celebrity softball game, the other at the benefit for Hurricane Katrina. Particularly at the Hurricane benefit, he and Mike James were the only ones that stayed longer than a few minutes- and, you know, when the camera wasn't on, and he was mobbed by tons of fans in the lounge area where they had the career-related services, he took a lot of time signing autographs. Particularly, for this one kid whose family had lost everything, he gave him his own shoes autographed- and more importantly, he sat down and talked with the family, even waving a camera off at one point. I was working with one of the individuals at the time, so I had a table right next to where he was. You know, you don't want to put these guys up on pedestals, but from what I heard, he was genuinely concerned about their situation- asking questions about their family in N.O. and telling them that his hometown in Florida is always in danger of something like this happening. So, for what it's worth, he's the type of athlete, like Yao, that I think you can be proud of rooting for because he takes things to heart and I really believe it's not just a money thing for him (although, let's be real, money is a HUGE part of most professionals' livelihood). Power to the Mac.
It seems like everytime he has a flareup, Tmac says it's not the same as the previous injury. How many different causes of back spasms are there?
Good to hear, hope he's back soon and we don't see this happening again...when he fell down in that game, he was screaming in pain, and the entire arena was silent and people just stood up holding their collective breaths, and when he was carried away on a stretcher, as they were exiting tons of fans were cheering and screaming "We love you T-Mac!" It was touching... Alright, enough of this crap, toughen up guys, stop acting like a bunch of gurlies.
By the way, according to the following (Chinese) article on sina, Yao was in the gym with Tmac for two hours before King's game. And he has been watching the Rockets' game tapes, many of them show the players' position when Tmac was double-teamed.
