T-Mac For Ben Gordon and Gooden

You know, our manager Morey really likes data. So, Ben Gordon will be the one he wants. Meanwhile, Gordon plays the same position as T-mac, and the Bulls always try to get T-Mac. Also, in order to match the salary, Gooden could also be included in the trade. We need Gooden because he can back up Yao.

I am just wondering if this trade is possible. Then the line-up would be:

    Rafer / Brooks
    Gordon / Barry / Wafer
    Artest / Battier
    Scola / Landry
    Yao / Gooden

Well, just wanna share my opinion here.
    Good Luck, Rockets

Ben Gordan is on a one year deal. He's going to want big money at the end of this year.

Its not going to happien but I'd think about it. No harm in thinking on how you can improve your team.

At the end of the day its up to Morey & "In Morey We Trust"

    Anything to back this up?

Anyway, I wouldn't do this trade. You trade McGrady for
    a) young talent with potential (not happening);
    b) someone whose contract expires this year.
Otherwise, we stick with him. It's less than two years left.

We've had this "trade T-mac" grumbling every year, and by the end of every year he's made us eat our words. Last year I wanted Redd for him when Yao was healthy and he was sulking, but by the playoffs last year not a single person could have argued that Redd was 1/2 the player T-Mac was.

It frustrates me too, that T-Mac has these periods of absolute negative utility. During these periods, we just have to consider T-Mac as a stock of a major company (like Intel or something) that is down bad due to the economy but virtually undealable, because you know he'll come back to his real value eventually. He's what, 29? 30? His value will return, even if it won't be what his 2002 playoffs value was. Or his 2005 playoffs value. I'll take the 2008 playoffs T-Mac any day though.

This is the reason Morey is our GM and not these bumbling knee-jerk idiots.

I don't know about this argument...there are some numbers he probably dislikes, too:

Gordon facts: Career 43% shooter (mediocre for a shooting guard), 6'3" on a tall day, 2.9/2.5 assist/turnover ratio, averaged less than 3 rebounds per game for his career. Thats...pretty mediocre

There are also subjective observations in play: He's a ball stopper, he wants to be "the man" and is more interested in money and number than his team, he gets abused by bigger 2s, and he's a one on one player who shoots with no conscience, no real point guard skills

Yes, gordon puts up decent numbers, but, when it comes down to it, he's basically luther head MK.2, and i don't feel like betting my franchise on that.

It's a shame we passed on the Pistons deal. Now we have to settle for deals like this since the league no longer has any doubts about McGrady being damaged goods.

Nah, the only players i see possible that i'd like are Redd or Okafor or Gerald Wallace or Jason Richardson when MJ takes over the team.

No more T-Mac trade threads, cause it's not going to happen. And please, give him some time to get back into his normal form, and work his way back to game shape. Stop being impatient, just give him some time, it's not fair to judge him on 1 or 2 games, especially after being injured and sick in those games.

These trade T-Mac threads should be banned. If it were up to you guys we'd trade for Marbury straight up.

If it were up to T0Fs, there would be no discussion allowed whatsoever, except of course for talk of the glory days in Orlando.

Good trade if you want to be a mediocre team forever. Skip/Gordon back court would get owned harder than a prostitute on Black Friday. Mine as well throw in the towel and save the embarrassment.

Gordon only makes sense for this team if McGrady is still on it.

a Gordon-Alson backcourt would be brutal.

Gordon-McGrady with McGrady running the point on offense would be fantastic.

I like the analogy. I couldn't agree more. You gotta ride the ups and downs with McGrady, it's just who he is.
