    Hey everyone,

As some of you may have heard, my season has come to an end. My knee hasn’t been right all year, and we can’t seem to get the pain to go away. We’ve tried just playing through it, taking back-to-backs off, and extended periods of rest, but none of it has really been effective in limiting the discomfort and allowing me to just go out there and play. I’ve met with numerous doctors and gotten a number of opinions, and unfortunately I will be undergoing microfracture surgery on my left knee immediately. Microfracture surgery is a serious procedure, but I’m confident that I will be able to return next season with the same strength and explosiveness you are all used to seeing from me.

It has been extremely frustrating dealing with the knee injury this season. It’s been tough on me both physically and mentally and while we’ve come to this conclusion after much deliberation, we truly feel this is best for both me and the Rockets in the long term. As I’ve said before and will say again, I have the best fans in the world. Thank you for all your continued support through the good times and the bad.

I will make sure to keep you all posted on what’s happening with me.

    Peace

    T-mac

the team refuses to admit it: HE'S DONE.

they need to get over it and move on. it's a big investment and they can't seem to grasp the tracy they wanted could be gone forever.

If he gets this surgery, it's a career for Mcgrady. He might try a comeback and play a few games averaging 5 ppg then officially retire but basically this is it for him if he gets the surgery.

I'd be surprised if he played another game for the Rockets.

I don't think the team can force him to play.. even if he doesnt need a surgery.. I think we have a pretty good roster now.. lets hope for the best

and I sincerely hope RON is resigned

So sad that his career and Rockets' tenure had to end this way.

I wonder what the future of this team is now.

Tracy McGrady is now nothing better than an expiring contract next year. He will never again suit up for the Rockets.

    Good.

he's done as a rocket. microfracture surgery requires one year of rehab. he's not gonna play next yr.

if he comes back, it's with another team.

so yes, he's officially done as a houston rocket and unfortunately, as an NBA player. i'm sure many will be throwing parties tonight.

he should stop posting updates on his website, every single one sounds the same, "i'm confident this will happen, i'll be back", etc. And it never comes true.

It doesn't HAVE to be a year of rehab. Some players have come back after a few months, others after 6-8 months or just under a year. It varies. Don't use Amare as an example because he he came back too early from it and it forced him to sit out even more time, so his wasn't just one, but two comebacks.

What to do you expect him to say?

"I will never be able to play basketball. I am done. I am retiring. I am all washed up "??

    Duh.

even if he comes back, he's not going to be a rocket. it's time to move on from the tmac era.

let's see where yao can lead us. all the attention will be on him now so i hope he delivers. but he has TONS of help so i'm not worried. this team can still compete.
