http://www.t-mac.com/tmac/blogDetail/368 Tracy recently sat down to answer a number of questions that fans have submitted through T-Mac.com. Submit your questions through one of the white question boxes or add it to the end of this post and Tracy might answer your question next! Q: What part of Michael Jordan’s game do you think made him the greatest ever? (Paul, New York) A: I think it would be his competitive fire. I don’t think I have seen anybody in the league as competitive as Michael. I think Kobe is close. Jordan had a fire in him that you don’t find in many guys out there, regardless of what sport they play, and that is what set him apart. Q: Do you like visiting China? (Jing Mai, Guangzhou) A: I love visiting China as well as the other countries in Asia I have been through. I’ve been on a number of trips with Adidas and it’s always a great time. The way they treat me over there is unbelievable. They make me feel like a rockstar. Q: I know you are a big baseball fan so I was wondering if you ever got to play with any of the Astros or other big league players you might know? (J.P., Waco, TX) A: I did get an opportunity to play some ball with Roger Clemens. He was throwing some serious heat! I was batting with an aluminum bat and I was actually hitting him so he made me switch to a wood bat. After the switch I was still hitting the ball so he started throwing high and inside at me. I had to get out of that cage when he started throwing at my head. He was throwing probably like 85 mph, so I wasn’t trying to mess around with that. It was a lot of fun though. Q: Does this year’s Western Conference playoff race feel different than years past? (Richie, Houston) A: This year is crazy. There’s going to be a team that wins 50 games and doesn’t make the playoffs, so it’s a battle out there. I love it. Every night is a competition. One day you’re in the fifth spot, the next day you’re in the third spot. It’s different than the playoff races I have been in in the past, but I like it. Q: Tracy I have been following your career through Toronto, Orlando, and now Houston. What are your ultimate goals in basketball? (Zack, Orlando) A: My ultimate goal is to be a champion. I know all these guys that have rings and I want what they have. I don’t care about scoring titles and individual accolades any more. I’ve done that. My goal it to get that championship and I will do whatever I gotta do to make that happen. Hopefully this will be the year but there are a lot of great teams out there. I’ll give it my all though, and hopefully we will be there in the end.
If Manu's only transgressions were stepping in front of driving players headed to the rim and taking a charge, he wouldn't have 1/10th the ire he gets now.
At least T-Mac knows what separated him from possibly being one of the greatest ever. He realizes that he doesn't have that competitive fire like Jordan or Kobe, its hard to just develop, it comes naturally from one's personality and character.
I don't see that! Actually, I see Kobe or James gets a lot of special calls! Sometimes, no player can touch them without a foul! Of course, they don't need to 'take charges' too often!
T-Mac is such a boring interview. Those are some canned answers. I still like him as a player though.
Manu gets a ton of ridiculous (what I like to call) "tripping" calls where he makes barely any contact with a player and throws himself on the floor. Dirk does the same thing, and it's really annoying to watch the refs fall for that crap. I have no problems with players taking charges since that's just good defense - flopping does not equate to taking a charge!
If Manu or Dirk could get spurstar calls like Kobe or James, they would not need to take 'those charges'!
If Tracy McGrady could get fouls called on twice the contact that fouls are called on these two for, he would shoot 10 FTs a game.
I had to get out of that cage when he started throwing at my head. He was throwing probably like 85 mph, so I wasn’t trying to mess around with that. wtf??? he cant be serious
I do love it, it's called Scola. It's called, "Eat some of your own medicine San Antonio!" In the first game we played them, I remember Manu driving on the outside and then trying to flop off Scola, but it was too late because Scola was also on the ground after flopping. No call. I was ROFLMAO.
This is true.. Agent Zero and Marbury probably would've answered those boring questions better. Tmac is like Shane, without the half the intelligence. Oh well.. at least he doesn't say "obviously" to start every sentence.
