Facts: 1. T-Mac said, Rockets is Yao's Team 2. Yao is too polite or not confident enough to take the Team because of his appreciation of T-mac. Result: Both wanted to defer to the other on court, so both passed the ball around acting like a role player (which is not a bad thing, it only one is doing that), and our real role players were forced to take many shots which didn't fall. T-Mac and Yao need to sit down and straight out their relationship, and they have to develop their chemistry based on their mutual understanding who is the court commander (make clear that the person is not JJ or our PGs). Then the chosen one or both have to behave like a leader on court and demand the team to follow their will to win.
I don't think passing out for open shots is a bad thing, in fact, it's great. Watch how Lakers used to kill other teams, Shaq or Kobe passed out of double teams, Fisher or Shawn or George or Rush or other role players killed other teams with their open shots. Our problem? Nobody can sink the open shots, then no one is gonna defend you, that's why Yao and T-Mac will be crowded all the time. Why our role players can't hit open shots? Coz they are too eager to approach the game, instead of letting the game come to them. They tried hard to create or force their shots, then eventually, when opportunities came for them to do stand-up shooting, they were already out of sync. I am puzzled, if JVG can't even get the message acrossed to make the role players do what they suppose to do, how could he make the team play the way he wants.
Exactly the role players act like they are the ones running this team!! Thats fine if they're good, but they all suck!! YnT don't need to talk about nothin!! They are getting along just fine 110%!! The two of them ARE the Rockets. The rest are players not even the Warriors and Bulls would want. The only thing YnT need to talk about is how to communicate to Les and CD that they need a new coach and some new role players!!
