Wow, this is the only pool in which I didn't finish in the bottom 3! (Came in dead last in my office pool and 92nd out of 94 in another one.)

Strategizing to maximize bonus points sure didn't work. I did much better in the ESPN one in the Fantasy League area where I just tried to pick winners.

Desert Scar: same for me. I tried picking lots of underdogs, because they were worth so much more, but that just didn't work. Then again, picking Indiana into the championship game would have been worth 25 points alone!

I'd say it's about 50% luck & 50% making knowledgable picks. Then again, my roommate watched little (if any) college hoops this year & finished around # 600 (of 590,000+) on yahoo's tourney challenge, so maybe it's all luck.

I'd never put money on the bracket. You can't say UNC-W over USC, UCLA over Cincy, IU over Duke and IU over OU. It just doesn't work. I'd bomb so bad in bets like that.

TONS of people (myself included) called this one. Hell, I'd take the Devry technology institute basketball team over Cinci in the tournament.
