Go join the Swirve.com fantasy baseball league. There's no draft, it's a contract based league with salary cap. After you create your team, log in, then click on join league from the left hand side menu.

I joined but the league name did not help. I had to search to get the League ID. You may want to add that to the thread.

I joined. Swirve appears to have a cool format.

Whats the deal on the signing periods ? If I sign a player to a partial contract, say 30 g's,and the contract runs out....do I have to sign him up at another 30g's ? Does this 30g stay spent or does it get added back after the contract is up ?

You keep him for that price as long as you have him under contract.

Let's say you sign Bagwell at $30,000 for 30 days.

Now, let's say he drops to $25,000 in a couple of weeks. At the end of 30 days, you'll now have him on a day-to-day basis at his current price ($25,000, but that can change daily). You can optionally sign him to a long-term deal again at the new $25,000 price.

On the other hand, let's say he rises to $40,000 by the end of your contract. You now have him on a day-to-day basis at $40,000 or you can re-sign him long-term at that price. If, after 15 days, he's up to $35,000, you can extend your current contract, but his price will immediately go to $35,000.

Conceivably, since you signed him for $30,000 and he cost you $40,000 at the end of the contract, you could end up over the cap, and that is OK (although, if you drop him, you'll still only have the $30,000 to spend). If you do this with several players, though, you could get well over the cap. If you're like 10% over the cap (not sure the exact number offhand), some of your players will stop playing for you.

Confusing, eh? :) It makes more sense once you're used to it.

Thx .. I was over there just now reading up on some of it,and it's a bit clearer now...but one thing did come to mind, maybe I should wait until spring training is over before I sign my players. Is it ok to do that ? I'd hate to sign some guy for 45g and have him get hurt before the season starts

You can drop and add players without penalty until the season starts.
