i hope they're wrong too... the guy reminds me so much of Kevin Garnett... also, maybe it's just me but, doesn't some of Brendan Haywoode's game resemble Kelvin Cato's game???

Me too -- I really hope he comes out because I like what I see of this kid, but I'm pretty sure he's staying.

I really knew for some reason he wont come out. He will be something special. He is really young and I think one more year of college ball will make his game much stronger.

He is a nice player but he is not worth to take with a lottery pick.

i agree with everyone, swift is the real deal. I don't think he will have the overall perimetr game as garnett, but i think he will be a bigger force on the defensive end. i could be wrong though, didnt he hit a couple of 3's ?
he is a top 5 pick if he comes out, no doubt about it.

Hey about this time last year Francis was not supposed to come out. Anyways was this in an article or on t.v. Was there any concrete facts? After my beloved Wild cats were eliminated I had a temporary 4 hour ban on any type of media coverage.

Not to worry, Will. Barring a miraculous trade for McGrady or a shot at Kenyon Martin, the Rockets will have a shot at Swift and Morris in the 2001 lottery.

I still think the Rockets should pick a big man in the middle. Then, you get rid of Cato or move him to the power forward position.

I don't know if Etan Thomas of Syracuse is coming out or Haywood from NC, but these should be what the Rocks should get so that we can have some big man blocking shots for years and with some offense also. Cato is too one dimensional.

Just because Swift can score in college doesnt mean he can in the NBA. Remember Hersey Hawkins and Bo Kimble along with Kurt Thomas all were big time scorers or lead the NCAA in scoring and don't do squat in the NBA.

I think we need to get big horses to compete with Shaq and Duncan who are clearly gonna dominate the West for years.

Just my opinion. What do I know, anyways? [IMG]

Let's hope Swift, Morris, Haywood, Woods, Jefferson, D. Johnson, Mihm & Moiso aren't stupid. If it is one thing guys should remember, returning to college ball for additional years doesn't guarantee you a title (just look at Duncan, Martin, Webber, Rose, Madsen) and you run a risk of major injury that can impact draft positioning (e.g., Martin, Woods). If you are a solid lottery pick, come get the $ while you can and return for the degree later (like Marbury, Iverson, Carter, Francis, Bibby, Odom, Jamison, Brand).

If most of these guys do come out, they will be lottery picks and the draft will be very good this year. To me, Woods, Haywood, Mihm all look like pretty skilled centers, better any that readily come to my mind since Duncan. With them in there, along with PF/C types in Swift, Martin, Moisiso (sp?), E. Thomas & K. Johnson, this seems like the best big man draft in years (the last 3 are a class down, but look decent too).

Let us hope they come to their senses and we need to make sure Atl and Clev don't try to slip by us.

Haywood is a junior and he won't come out. Etan Thomas is a senior and has no choice about staying in school. Bo Kimble was like what...a 6'3" SG. Bad combination in the pros. Hersey Hawkins is also a 6'3" SG, but he did have a couple of 20 plus scoring seasons with Johnny Dawkins in Philly. So he did manage to translate his scoring prowess from college to the pros. Kurt Thomas was a decently skilled big man in a weak Southwestern Conference. I can't even recall a 7 footer playing at the time in the league. Also, he played for the Horn Frogs, who always finished near the top in the NCAA in scoring. Swift can do a little more than those guys. I'm all up for drafting Big Men. But I don't want to draft big men for the sake of having a big man. That's how you end up being stuck with guys like Adonal Foyle.

I'm still optimistic, Francis knows Morris well and will convince him to come out to be his teammate.

Are you sure you want Etan Thomas? This guy 6'9", doesn't have much offense better than Cato, and is a defensive presence. Basically a shorter version of Cato.
