First time poster, bear with me... So if Swift might be leaning towards returning to LSU because he doesn't particularly care to end up on any of the teams with top picks...AND....Stromile loves the Rocket organization...THEN....why not try this: Have Swift threaten all the teams with 1 through 8 picks that if they take him, he'll go back to LSU. Then grab him at #9. Now, I'm sure this kind of practice may be frowned upon but to my knowledge doesn't break any rules. Heck, we made a power play to get Francis...why not try a new and improved power play to get Swift (this time without having to give anything up)... ------------------
you don't want to rub other teams the wrong way. The NBA commishner might step in and give the rockets a tampering fine. ------------------ "You've got 6 fouls, use them well" -Derrick Coleman
Have Swift threaten all the teams with 1 through 8 picks that if they take him, he'll go back to LSU If Swift is to go back to LSU, he has to withdraw one week prior to the draft. If he stays in the draft, going back to LSU wouldn't be an option. ------------------
or tell 1-8 if they draft him he will demand to be traded to Houston to be near his grandmother ------------------ Proud owner of 271 different Hakeem Olajuwon Basketball cards
He could play the same trump card that Francis did to whomever takes him....however, I'm not the biggest Swift fan in the world....I'm not sure I'd give up THAT much ------------------
Even if Swift threatened the top 8 teams in the lottery, and that would not be recommended to the kid by anyone except we Rocket faithful, as aelliott said he has to with draw his draft entry a week prior. Plus, do you think that would deter a team from picking him anyway? They would still draft the kid and then trade him away for something worthwhile. ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
