It'd be a riot if dude somehow refused to report and the trade was rescinded. Goat to hero overnight.

EDIT: Scratch that. Jerry West will probably turn around and find a way to trade him for a starter or 1st round draft pick by week's end.

To be fair to Stro Show, I'd be pissed too if I took less money just to get dealt.

It's one of the examples that other players look at and say, "see THAT is why I want to get paid."

This doesn't really sound that crazy to me now after how Jerry West has make out like a bandit in Wednesday's draft.

And this hurts our chances of ever ladning another quality player using the MLE. If you were Wilcox, Pryzbilla or any other FA, would you agree to getting just the MLE and play for the Rox, instead of bigger offers from other teams?

I would think twice, nay, three times...

This could be Swift's best contribution to the Rockets yet. Grizz are forced to take Juwan instead and Rockets still trade Stro but at least get something more out it all.

Come on now we are just grasping at straws. I think we all need to just accept now that the Rockets might have actually outdone the EG trade.

Stromile is gonna make us regret trading him just like Rudy Gay will.

    Mark my words.

Yeah, let's pile on the pain, West will probably trade him for a starter or a first round pick and make the Rockets look even more stupid.

I didn't know Swift could show some emotion. He needs to know that if he played well here, he wouldn't have been traded after only one year.

Yeah but didn't Riles work for him and know what he was like?

"Hey Jerry, I got my paycheck, but you forgot to sign it. My bank won't cash it!"

"Hey Pat, just a little oversight. Just goofing wichya guy!"

I feel for him. I really, really dislike the fact that we're trading him away along with Rudy Gay for Battier. I would've been more than fine with the #8 for Battier straight up -- you could even through Howard in there.

Stro was never given a fair shot here in an injury-ridden disaster of a season. He was the ONLY player of value next to Yao and McGrady, and somehow -- apparently -- we weren't able to convince Memphis that Rudy Gay was a fair value in return for Battier, I don't understand how but it looks like that's what happened, so go figure

I am on record now saying that giving up Stro was a bad move, period. He could've been another chip that we could use somewhere down the line in a future trade. We should have tried to work Howard into that trade anyway we could. Stro has talent and all he needs is a consistent role with consistent minutes so that he knows what to expect. He showed flashes of brilliance and wasn't as bad as people make him out to be, it's not like he's getting the max, heck, he ain't even getting Erika Dampier money, he's a real value for the kind of money he makes at the kind of size/talent he possesses.

So, yes, I like trading for Battier, I don't like giving up Stro in the process; that's my only beef with management...

I totally agree. Watch him trade Stro to the Nets for Antoine Wright or something like that.

Yeah I feel really bad for Swift. Came to Rockets, took less money, had high hopes. Wasn't even given a good amount of playing time and our team was mostly injured. I don't believe he got the fair opportunity to show what he could do. He seemed to like Houston and sending him back to hell in Memphis is really wrong. I hope things turned out better, I was afraid of trading Swift but it seemed inevitable.
