Check out these new pics from world renowned toy artist Todd McFarlane. This Yao figure is set to be realeased in Nov. 04 and is from the NBA Series 7. Also set to be released in Nov. 2004 is a 12" Yao figure (Lebron also is going to be produced). And a 3" Yao double pack with Richard Jefferson on Feb. 05. Hopefully the Rockets will do another McFarlane Stadium Giveaway of Yao or T-Mac like they did last year.

Look how ripped Yao looks in the figures. I know its just a figurine but compare Yao's upper body from the NBA Series 5 that came out last year to the new NBA Series 7 figure. And before you blow it off that its just a toy remember that Todd McFarlane is known for making extremley realistic looking toys.

Somebody give Anthony Falsone a raise!  :D And props to McFarlane for making such a bad a$$ figurine.

I can't say that it looks much like Yao though. It doesn't even have a flat-top.

Are you kidding? :( I thought it looked exactly like him. Yao doesn't always have a flat top. [IMG]

Yeah, looks very much like the real person. Except that his muscles are a bit exaggerated.

The first few look like he forgot to put his dentures back in. And he does seem a bit more buff than Yao really is in the upper body. Nice, though.

Todd McFarlane is awesome. I met met him about 10 (?) years ago. He signed a full set of Spiderman prism cards for me and gave me a signed gold Spawn card by Wizard.

He is a comic book artist.

Why else do you think they packaged RJ with Yao? Because no one in their right mind would buy an RJ figure on its own.

    Absolutely right.

But why make RJ in the first place?

RJ and Yao is stoopid, they should have a Tmac + Yao pack.
    Now that I would buy!

    That's a very good explanation.

That's a very good question too.
