Remember when Rafer was still in Toronto and Sam Mitchell talked bad about him, Vince Carter the team captain made it public that he didnt even want Rafer on the team and he had bad character.

Once Rafer got there, they didnt even give him a chance and he sat on the bench for most of the season. When he finally got traded for Mike James he never went out and just bashed everyone on the Raptors. He kept quiet and tried to just play.

Then everytime the depleted Rockets played the Raptors Mike James would just boast and look over at the bench and kind implied to the media that Rafer sucks, bad move on the Rockets.

I WANT RAFER TO JUST EMBARRASS JAMES THIS YEAR

Tmac will take back his SUPERSTAR status

Battier will make Jerry West lose his job

I don't get it, who sat on the bench for most of the season?

    Rafer didn't get a chance?

What the heck is going on here, I don't understand if this is sarcasm, or I just don't know.

    Please explain.

I believe he meant Rafer was benched on the Raptors. He did make significant progress statistics wise from Heats to the Raptors, hence our interest in him in the first place.

Rafer started 78 out 80 games that season and played 34 minutes per game. I'm not sure Rafer was actually benched, otherwise his 14 point per games and 6 assists per game would not be so high, that's why I'm baffled at what the poster is actually trying to say.

I know Rafer had a lot of run-ins with Mitchell, but bottomline, Rafer still played a lot, so that's why I'm not sure what's going on.

I'm gonna say this...and i know it's something someone can't "honestly" predict...but I wouldn't be surprised if this team gets in a handfull of fights this season.

From Snyder, Bonzi, and T-Mac...all three of them pretty much have a mouth on them and that cocky swagger that has put them in some heated moments in the past. You can even add Rafaer to the list...as he's a player who talks a lot of crap on the floor. Don't put V-Span in the game...or it's over. I'm surprised this guy didn't get in some sort of altercation in the first two games of preseason. he's a ticking time bomb out there.

Then you add that we have a lot of players who hustle and dive for looseballs...a lot of scuffles involving our players this year won't surprise me. And honestly, I wouldn't mind that type of outcome if that's the results to having that type of swagger... as I don't think we'll ever be known as thugs just for the simple fact that we have Yao and Shane on our team.

But yeah...i wouldn't be surprised if some of our players miss games because of stuff poppin' off...but atleast it won't be because of an injury. :D

    Uhhhhh. Okay.

So what's the deal then? What the heck are you talking about, that's all I want to know?

But, whatever, if you are going to be a butt about it, just don't answer anything, I'll just keep on.

You are right, the rookie should shut his face and let me do the analyzing.

However, the rookie brought up some good points so I'm going to borrow from it:

Rafer started 78/80 games that season and played 34 mpg. I'm not sure Rafer was actually benched, otherwise his 14 ppg and 6 apg would not be so high.

What is your point? I thought you were going to say something like, Rafer needs to get back some of his playground swagger and play 'his-game'. Instead, you are worried about revenge? For the money we used to get VSpan, Novak's extra year, John Lucas III and Bonzi Wells, we could have had Mike James. We made out like bandits. Not to mention, we have Rafer from the trade. 5 for 1 sounds pretty good to me. Almost like when the Cowboys traded Herchel Walker for the team that won the 3 most recent Super Bowls.

Did you make this up? VSpan a ticking time bomb? What is in his past that makes you think he would fight someone?

Maybe "ticking timebomb" wasn't the right term to use.

Im describing the way he plays and his attitude when on the floor. If you watch the way he plays, the guy is a flat out beast. He's reaching for steals; he goes full steam for loose balls....it's like he plays in fast forward. I didn't watch Game 2 live, but during Game 1...i literally was waiting for someone on Memphis to take offense of his playing style.

    I never called them hotheads.

I said that they have that cocky swagger that will more than likely put them in several heated situations this season. Normally, having one person like that isn't going to cause incidents. It's when you put several people like that together...and it starts to rub off on eachother...that's when you have to be cautious about altercations arising on the floor. That was the problem with Portland all those years.

You may think Tracy is a laid back guy, but Tracy is as arrogant as they come, and I have seen him in more than enough incidents (Trash Talking wise) with other players to say that he does indeed belong in that group. Even last season, and I don't know if anyone has the tape, but Tracy and Bonzi were going at it in Memphis...even while Tracy was on the floor and Bonzi was sitting on the bench. Go look at the footage if it's possible. You add to the fact that Tracy is going to be playing with other young cocky players like Bonzi and Snyder...and he's also going to have things to prove this season...i'm just saying don't be surprised.

started 78 games, averaged 34 minutes a game... those are solid numbers that show that rafer didnt sit on the bench all season..

    care to comment?
