How does a suspended player count against the roster limit? Obviously, for a short suspension, the team can and just will eat it, but the Pacers have 3 significant players with 25-50 game suspensions? Do the Pacers have to navigate those games with a depleted roster or do they have some place beside IR to stash suspended players so that they can fill out their roster?
I believe Griffin fan is right. The rule, to the best of my knowledge is, you can replace a suspended player on the roster with someone else on the roster, but if you do, then that suspended player can't come back for 5 games. Sort of like the 15 day DL in baseball. I think this rule was instiuted so that teams woudn't go out and fill a roster spot for 1 game due to a suspension. Im not totally positive on that though.
Found confirmation. http://www.nba.com/analysis/00421026.html Doesn't say how big the list for suspended players can be, I assume it's limitless.
