We built a surveillance capitalist economy based on allowing giant monopolistic companies to harvest our personal data for free. And instead of using it for Pandemic response (Korea, Singapore being the counterexamples) - we used it to feed people facebook trash and force them to buy stupid ****. When the reckoning that is approaching at the speed of light comes, we need to reflect on this and take corrective action.
