This has probably been asked already, but does anybody know Bob Sura's status? Will he be able to play this next year? I would think that would effect our draft, in particular our 2nd round pick.
According to JVG on 610 the other day, a workout was planned for Sura earlier this month to determine his status. But it was canceled because he could not do it. So I guess Sura is done.
Yeah I figure he's done as well. Which is a shame because he'll always be one of my favorite Rockets.
Too bad if the Rox don't get Sura back. He was tough as nails and had that certain intangible quality that he brought to the team. Rox need players that are as tough as Bob Sura.
I've always been curious about career-ending injuries and coaching. Can Sura and the Rockets renounce the remaining portion of his contract in exchange for a position (same pay) as coach? Does the renounced salary still count against the cap?
