My buddy and I ran into him last night before our league game at the MET. No surprise, but he said he is definitely not coming back this year.

Not sure this is really news but since I have seen some threads about him coming back after the AS break, I thought I'd pass it along . . .

Isnt there some insurance policy for not playing a season? Like get some money back.

Yah, almost everyone figured he wouldn't be back this season, there is really no reason whatsoever for him to be rushed back for the last month of the season given that there is a very, very small chance this team makes the playoffs anyways -- whether they play well or not -- unless other teams ahead of them completely tank.

What I'm wondering is who was the dufus that kept telling everyone in the media that he's practicing and should be back next week. Someone needs to be strung up for this crap.

I like Bob just as much as the next guy, but, IMHO, with Rafer playing as well as he is, I think we will be fine with out him. Sure I'll miss (and we could use) his size and his toughness, but we have a big gaurd in Bogans and we have our leadership (as far as on the court) in Alston.

Well, that sucks. Surely we are looking for a backup PG with Anderson or whoever else we are shopping. What makes me wonder is how come every other report has indicated he should be back in a few weeks...I know Jon Barry said it on the radio, CD might have even said it, and I've heard it from Ric Bucher on Espn.

Rafer is starting to come into his own, but I wanted Sura's aggressiveness and rebounding.

Sura isn't a natural 1 anyways. If he is back, he can play his natural 2. Either he or Wes can come off the bench.

I'm not surprised but I am way bummed. I believed the hype about him coming back. Wishful thinking, I guess. What a bummer after the great game tonight.

Not too suprised, even with the reports of him coming back, I was really skeptical.

hmm i wouldnt be surprised if this is true, but i guess i'll wait after an official announcment or after the trade deadline. Its become painly offense we need another pg on the team. whenever rafer goes out the team loses it offensively. head is better suited at the 2 guard, wesley decent but not really his role and tracy is better as a catalyst in this offense rather than being the guy bringing the ball up.

if somehow the DA+TE gets turned into earl watson i'd be happy as beans man

so what's the deal? Is he going to retire? What does his contract look like? I am tired of the Rockets employing all the injured. I love Sura, don't get me wrong. If he can't comeback this season will he try next season?

I used to be a member at the MET but now I just play in the league there.

Sura told my friend that he was going to try to come back next year.
