With one judge abstaining (because his brother, a federa judge, ruled over the case), the court voted 8-0 that the Federal law supercedes the California state law with regards to mar1juana. They voted 5-3 that medical concerns were not an exception to the law, and ordered all mar1juana cooperatives (growing it for legal consumption) shut down. http://www.msnbc.com/news/573086.asp I'm surprised that we haven't heard more on this in the news -- seems a little out of the blue. Crap... I guess this means the feds have to legalize it .... and that isn't going to happen for DECADES. Oh well, bet the cops in Cali don't enforce the ruling . Besides, I don't smoke, so I guess it's only important to me symbolically. Just out of curiosity... in my home town, if you were a "respectable" kid who didn't get in a lot of trouble, and were caught with pot... the police just made you throw it out.
