I'd put money on this being total bull crap. No way they would be stupid enough to do that.

I don't care about Kaman's foot and Davis' production this year. You do that trade. Period.

probably has to do with the matter that baron is paid maximum money for the next six years and actually shoots worse % than Rafer from both the field and the 3 pt line. Look at his terrible stats one time.

Yeah, that's the only reason for it. Financially strapped down the road.

But for the time being, Dallas would be a viable threat down the stretch. This year and next year.

it would be a double slap in the face of cuban thats why

    actually a triple slap

    1) trading kidd away less than a season after trading a great young pg for him will mean that the kidd trade was a total flop as of right now it looks like the nets have the better end of it but if the mavs make it back to the finals/win it all then the trade looks better for the mavs

    2) kaman is by far a better center than dampier and they are paying damp all that money and let nash go because of that having kaman there starting will just focus more on the biggest mistake cuban has made

    3) getting the PG that destroyed the mavs and sent them into infamy for losing in the first round will just be even more of a slap in cubans face

face it its all about his ego not surprised at all he didnt want to do that trade.

Probably because Davis and Kaman are both paid a lot of money for a long time. Injuries don't help either.

Beat me to it! I would venture to say that's probably exactly why.

Not really, Kidd is better than baron in every aspect of basketball.

I think they'd have a small window if they did that trade. If healthy, they could possibly contend for the title for about the next 2-3 years. Mavs have been built on trading for contract guys and a little through the draft. They were never big free agent players. Basically they did what Isiah and the Knicks did only more successfully. Why abandon that now?

At this point, I would much rather have Devin Harris than Kidd (I didn't like that trade from the start) and now, the drop off between Kidd and BDiddy is not that far off.

The drop off between Kaman and Dampier/Diop, is.

That would be a TERRIBLE trade for the Mavs. Kidd has an expiring contract this year. Why in the world would they want to saddle themselves with two injury-prone players that do not have a reputation for winning and are being overpaid for several years to come?

i can't believe baron is playing so horribly this year, what did he have 4 points last game?? compare last years stats to this year stats and thats a HUGE dropoff, what kind of injury was it? id still do the trade if i was the mavs Kaman is a really good player on both ends of the floor and i think baron(healthy) would make them an instant contender

Dirk/Baron/Howard/Terry/Kaman? Would they play with two basketballs?

Because if they accepted the trade, it would mean that they admitted that the Kidd-for-Harris deal was a failure.

I would say Baron is a better scorer.
