Guess I will be the only one on the board supporting him today, but I still like Mobley. 1. He is a streak shooter. Until we get another scorer (or until Francis becomes the offensive leader) we will live and die by his one on one skills. It's pretty obvious RT likes him doing it (going one on one). Also he is effective at doing it (he gets alot of good looks at the basket), just he doesn't always shoot straight. It will come with maturity. 2. The guys shows a lot of heart. Him & Francis seem to be the only two with their heads in the game all the time. Anderson often vanishes from the game, Cato is a night and day player (way on or way off), the young forwards are playing well in spurts, but still not in a nightly basis. 3. Hopefully at some point he will be able to use his one-on-one skills to create opportunities for his teammates. Obviously he hasn't done a very good job of this yet. It will come with maturity. 4. Keep in mind that on the offensive end of the court he is still a rookie, just like Francis. Last year Mobley got his minutes, but as we all know his primary job (like every other player on the team) was to drop the ball in the post to Chuck-Dream. He is still learning. 5. To recap- Mobley does have good game, hopefully he will be able to incorporate the team into his game. Bear with him, he is young and a streak shooter. I think he can be a star in the NBA, but he needs a little more experience.
Well I agree with you pretty much chuckie. But I still think that we should pass more instead of getting it to Mobley. I agree that Mobley should be getting the ball a lot, but 24 shots on an off night is not the answer. I'd like it if Mobley always drove and then kicked it out to an open teammate. I was just disappointed in our lack of creativity on offense. Where's the pick and roll, how about posting Francis on Mugsy, how about posting up Shandon sometimes, how about some screens for Walt, how about a pass here and there to Kenny Thomas, how about some more cutting to the basket!!
