I used to think Starbury was, but after that Allen "I'm too good to be coming off the bench" Iverson incident, he shot all the way up
    in my charts.

Here are players which I think their heads are bigger than their game.

    1. Allen "I'm the answer for everything" Iverson
    2. Stephon "Starfruit" Marbury
    3. Shaq "never play me one no one ever ever ever me one on one" O'neil. errr Yao did and kicked your butt thrice.
    4. Kobe "i'd like to thank shaq for my 3 rings" Bryant
    5. Amare "pad my stats" damire to win ROY

Some people may say Francis can be categorised with these guys, but I'd like to point out he has sacrificed his game for the greater good and he's listened for the most part to Jeff Van Grumpy. Oh yea, he's also willing to defer to some 7'6 guy after 5 years running the show and being the main man. Francis is a team player, he just needs to get smarter.

    Who are yours?

How was Stodamire padding his stats when his team made the playoffs. There's no basis to lump him in that group.

I agree with PGabriel about Amare. Shouldnt be on that list.

Shaq is definitely #1 on my list. By far.

    Kobe is close behind.

    Iverson is on there.

The rest of the field are also-rans IMO:

    Payton
    Marbury
    Walker
Carter (more of a chip on his shoulder than ego probably)

I hear Eddie Curry has a pretty high opinion of himself.

    Cassell maybe. Probably Steve Francis.

Maggette has always struck me as someone that is full of himself

    Van Exel

BTW, having a super ego is not necessarily a bad thing.

"Superhate" is my new favorite word.

On a serious note, Adonal Foyle has quite the ego. He needs to be brought down a peg. Show-off.

How can you guys forget Scottie "I am not going in if I am not taking the final shot" Pippen?

And Phil "tell them that I have ego too" Jackson (see my sig.)

I put Amare on that list because I remembered when he was asked a question of what he thought of Yao Ming last year, he replied with something along the lines of "he's OK, but...I can do much more things bla bla bla"

Whereas when Yao was asked by what he thought of Amare, he said Amare is a great talent and competitor.

Well, I can probably find the quote somewhere.

Anyway look at Amare today vs the Rox, through first quarter 0 for 6! HA!!

TO be honest, he is a pretty exciting player though.

I agree with fba, i don't like Kmart either.

He's always trying to pick fights in games and has respect for nobody. I remember him threatening the nets that he'll leave because they won't offer him a max contract. Look in the mirror Kmart!! You aren't a max player, you're only putting up half decent stats because you're playing on a fastbreaking , running team with Jkidd. You can't create your own shots, you can only dunk!! put him on another team and watch his stats dwindle.

Can't believe no one mentioned T-Mac. How many times has he said his team is worthless without him, or when he said he'll drop 70 points in a game before his career is over, no problem?

Biggest aego in the NBA IMO.

True. But he performs... And as long as he is putting up numbers better than 98% of the league, no one will care... Iverson tho. he is expandable, especially with his age/injuries etc.

No way, remember when he said "I'm so happy to finally get to the second round" when they were 3-1 against Detroit and his team loses in the end 4-3? Or how about him complaining about the zone defenses when he can't do what he wants on the court. Those statements right there just shows how much pride he has for himself. True, Shaq and Kobe may have humongous egos but at least they've won rings. I agree, McGrady has one of the biggest egos in the NBA.

    You don't believe him?

A lot of these guys seem to rub all of you here the wrong way. I just don't feel up in arms about it.

After all the hyperbole and hype and love these NBA'ers have been fed since junior high, would you expect anything else?

I don't take Shaq seriously enough to say his ego is that bad. He has a good sense of humor about himself, like Barkley. Y'all are just falling for his act.

TMac is easily the most egotistical player in the league. Thinks he should have a say on how to run the Magic franchise and is one of 2 players currently playing that has publicly stated that he is the best player in the league. The other is Vince Carter.

If that punk ass McGrady ever became a Rocket, I would root for another team.
