The fact that the Colts are the 2nd highest Passing Attack in the NFL and had to go up against strong passing defense like the Ravens and Jets and Manning still put up impressive numbers going against a Saints defense that is 26th is passing defense while The Saints rely a lot on the big play with the Colts defense ranked 1st in fewest plays over 20+ yards and 8th in lays over 40+ yards tells me the colts favor better against the Saints D than the Saints favor against the Colts D

Colts working out ex-Saints Jason David, Mike McKenzie

You see this some during the regular season- signing players that played for the upcoming opponent. Should the NFL have a rule against this, especially in the playoffs?

McKenzie had a decent, yet brief, showing earlier this year in NO ... but David went out as one of the absolute worst corners in the league. I remember Andre Johnson eating his lunch in '07 against the Saints.

Maybe the league should allow for expanded practice squads during the playoffs, so players won't be getting signed off the street in the midst of the playoffs by teams trying to gain advantages.

Why are you considering the things the Colts did in the playoffs and then going back to the regular season to judge the Saints? Going up against elite passing offenses led by Brett Favre and Kurt Warner, the Saints gave up 7.0 yards per attempt in the playoffs - third-best among teams playing at least two games, and a good deal better than the Colts (7.4), who went against Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco.

I still see Peyton holding that trophy up at the end of the day even with Freeney out.

In the previous playoffs games if the colts stopped the run, they win, and they did.
now with the saints, if they stop the run, the saints will do passes, look in the jets games, when the jets did long passes, the saints can do those long passes more effective than the jets, and if freeney doesnt play, they can double mathis, and brees will have more time to find any receiver.

its obviously a shotout, the team that makes more defensive plays will win it.
both teams will have nearly the same passing yards and total yards, so its going to be which defense step up.

colts gave up 5.7 yards per play. the saints gave up 6.2 yards per play in the postseason.

if your gonna go by that then why not go off how indy was 4th in total offensive yards of all post season offenses against 2 of the top defenses in the playoffs?

Is this superbowl still going to happen? I wasn't sure -- I haven't heard much about it over the past week (least hyped game in many years).

Yep, he practiced, but Freeney didnt even try to run or making moves, they expected to test the ankle today, but didnt happen, so the status is still uncertain.

We had Domino's Pizza delivered Saturday evening. The delivery man asked me who I had for the game and I told him I was from Indy. He said he used to be a friend of Archie Manning's a long time ago and has known Peyton since he was a kid. I asked him a few questions and he really seemed legit.

Anyway, go Colts. I won't be crushed if the Saints win since I like Drew Brees a lot. As long as the Cowboys didn't make it. For me, this is similar to the Colts/Bears game where I liked both teams.

i'm going for the underdogs, i'm thinking that as much offense both teams have, a turnover or two will change the outcome of the game. i'm thinking sharper with an interception, a fumble by one of the receivers and the saints win by a short margin.

the reality though is that the colts are gonna win. everyone... i mean even people in NO knows that they can't beat the colts. they've been the best team ever since Manning hit his stride. they are even better now IMO than when the patriots were doing their thing.

I hope New Orleans wins. I picked Arizona last year as my "team of destiny" and they nearly pulled it off, but the Colts are a lot more dangerous than last year's Steelers. The Saints will be need a few lucky breaks to pull it out, but I can't get over thinking about how good of a story it would be if they won.

Hello, this is my first post ever on here. I've been a lurker for some time, but after watching ESPN, I have noticed that something was wrong. NFL matchup is on right now and they did the intro to the show. I swear I heard that they said thanks for tuning in, its Superbowl morning and such and such. As I'm typing they referenced the game as it being played today. Has anyone been watching and noticed this? Also, is it big of deal as I'm making it out to be? This isn't the first time that I have see that ESPN has done something weird, but thats another story.

The English language has this crazy new thing called "punctuation" which gives structure to something you write and makes it much easier for others to understand the point that you are trying to get across. Learn it, live it, love it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punctuation
