This may be a little radical, and it may not even deserve it's own thread, but I feel it does. It just angers me the way the game turned out.

Okay, it seems that this was the worst officiated Super Bowl I've ever watched. ALL the calls went Pittsburgh's way. The touchdown that never was, the "low block on the quarterback" call, etc. It was all just too convienient. EVERYTHING went the Steelers' way. I don't even know if they had more than 2 penalties all night.

This, coupled with the time management of the Seahawks has me wondering. In the first half, you wondered what they were doing. Meh, I passed it off. Maybe they had a few blunders. Then, as the game wore on and into the final seconds, things just got coincidental. Seattle just kept going for it, and going for it. Why didn't they kick a field goal? Why would you complete an inbounds pass on 3rd down? Why?

Either the play caller needs to be canned TOMORROW, or the game was rigged. In my opinion, Seattle should have won.

Everyone around me, including Steelers fans, were feeling the exact same way.

Seattle got screwed and you gotta feel bad for them. Horrible officiating.

Yeah, the officiating was horrible. Especially, on the Hasselbeck "fumble". On the replay you could clearly see an official behind the play where a steeler put his hand on him. Good thing it was rightly overturned. The Rothlisberger td call was awful, too.

It did seem like the NFL wanted the Steelers to win. The super bowl commercials with the players and coaches seemed kind of biased, it was like all Steelers except of a couple of Seahawk players. I'm just glad that I didn't lose a lot of money on this game.

Exactly. Something I forgot to mention:

With all of the publicity on Jerome Bettis, and even multiple commercials with him headlining them, there's just too many things that make you wonder. It seems nobody even talked about the Seahwaks.

No. There were some bad calls, but no way can you say it was rigged based on the few bad calls. Bad calls happen in most games, these few bad one just happened to go against the seahawks.

If you make the argument that this superbowl was rigged then you could say the same thing about the Rose Bowl. (VY's knee was clearly down on that toss).

I don't see how any of you can be upset over the Roethlisberger TD call.

No one can tell. At the end of the play, he's short. But there's a moment in there where something touches the goal line, and it's not Roethlisberger's helmet. It's around his midsection. In my opinion, it was the football, and that's a touchdown. Several other people I've talked to feel the same way. It could, however, have also been a Seattle helmet from one of the defenders. It was too shadowy to tell for sure on the replay.

I think it was a legit TD, but I don't know for sure. And none of you know for sure that it wasn't. If you actually looked at the ball while the play is in motion instead of when he goes down, you'll see there's a distinct possibility it hit the line. There were some questionable calls, but that's not one you can say the officials blew. None of us can know for sure if you look at the entire play.

Nice try, reggie. Ground can't cause a fumble... or an incompletion if you have two feet down first and you aren't in the end zone. Kelson had the interception, plain as day, two feet down, fell back, and lost it upon contact with the ground. That's a catch, and in that case an interception. It was just as blatant of a missed call as Vince's knee being down.

That's exactly what I was thinking...

This game had some bad officiating and some calls went Pittsburgh's way. But don't stretch it and declare that the game was rigged...

I don't honestly think that the game was rigged, but the officials made some very iffy calls and ALL of those iffy calls went against Seattle. I didn't care who won, so I felt like an objective observer.

Two really big calls that went against the Seahawks were the offensive pass interference negating a touchdown that I thought should have been a no-call. Also, the holding call in the fourth quarter after a completed pass to the 2 was horrible, unless they showed the wrong player on the replay.

There were some calls on less critical plays that I thought were iffy that all went against the Seahawks. Twice it appeared that the Steelers defense jumped early on the pass rush which should have given Seattle a free play, but no call.

My biggest disappointment is that this was a very boring game. Ugh.

The Rudy's BBQ commercial was the highlight of the whole night.

I didn't bet on the game. I guess I'm just upset because it seems the refs ruined a seemingly close football game. Well, the refs, and the fact that Seattle seemed to give up....

I am not much of a Football fan but tuned in to watch the Superbowl. I was neutral. Did not really care for who won.

But wow!! That game was incredibly biased towards the Steelers. I wouldnt be suprised if the refrees were paid off with the performance they put on tonight. I would hate to be a Seahawk fan right now.

It would be about time, rigged games have been a stable of soccer competitions for decades.

Pittsburgh won in a game that featured some mediocre offense and fairly good defense because they made two big plays. Simple as that. The 75 yard Parker run and the trick play TD.

Otherwise, both teams sucked it up most of the night on offense. Terrible interceptions, missed field goals, overthrown passes, etc.

The game was officiated well, and they had appropriate challenges when needed. The referees are professionals, who do their best. The Seahawks just got OWNED and those of you who complain must have lost some money or are Steeler haters.

Yes, this was a rigged game, absolutely, the officials call everything against seattle (the big ben TD was not a TD, the first seattle TD was a TD, etc.)

something was going on. someone at my super bowl party said to me, "ya think we just witnessed a fix?" i think so.

man if any a$$clown ever tries to tell me that the nba is fixed and act like the nfl is pure, i might just have to smack them with my dvd-r of this game. i've seen some crappy nba officating in my time, but nothing so blatant. my biggest complaint with nba officials is that they compound problems by trying to balance bad calls out on both ends. these nfl mofos just straight up jobbed one side. how can you live with yourself?
