Right now the Pathers are leading the Eagles 14-3 in the NFC Championship game and if they hang on it will mean the Patriots will play the Panthers in our Super Bowl. I don't think there could be a more boring Super Bowl then if these two teams meet hook up. Could be the least watched Super Bowl of all time.

yeap, i was hoping for a Colts vs Eagles, but that ones a goner. and if McNabb doesn't get it together soon, it's gonna be the Pats vs. Panthers, yeah! I feel like the excitement that our city has been harboring ever since Houston was picked to host has been stolen....

Guys look on the bright side. It could have been Tennessee vs Dallas.

I disagree. These two teams have played close games all year long. Put them together and I think we will see a classic game in a few weeks. New England is simply amazing what is it 14 in a row? I dont see how a story line of "Can the underdog panthers end one of the the longest winning streaks in NFL history" cannot be a little interesting. Than you have New England going for a "modern" NFL dynasty. It dosent get much better than this...

New england as the modern nfl dynasty? Somehow that just doesn't stick with me. If you like painfully boring football then pats vs. panthers is just perfect for your liking.

Ya know, I heard people in other parts of the country saying the same thing about the 1994 NBA Finals....

I would much rather see a 17-14 Super Bowl than the blowouts we usually get.

Assuming that the Panthers hold on, I agree with rocketfan83 in that we should have a very competitive Super Bowl. You have 2 great defenses going at it and the score could very well be 17-14 or 10-6 or some other low score.

Those games are always the best ones for me to watch because every play matters since it is such a defensive struggle.

Unfortunately, we have been conditioned to not like this type of football because it isn't "sexy" enough or "glamorous". Well, who cares? Big deal if the people on ESPN can't show the highlights of this game and use their cute, little irritating names they like to use.

We need to take out this entertainment angle and remember that football is a grand old sport and that the smash mouth teams win most of the time.

Big deal, that's what everybody said when the Rams played the Titans: two small market teams that came out of nowhere with no big stars..the result was the greates super bowl that I have ever seen.

It will be a good game I think.

    wtf?

eddie george and steve mcnair were stars that year.. so was marshall faulk.. kurt warner wasn't exactly a star, but he was putting up ungodly numbers (unlike his current darkhorse counterpart, Delhome)

I think the Eagles offense is painfully boring to watch. I actually fell asleep during the first half of this game. If I see another 3 yard flare pass, I'm going to change the channel.

I hate the "West Coast" offense. Much like the Run and Shoot, todays defenses have caught up with it. Too many 5 yard passes. Andy Reid is overrated.

BTW, now we get to see the 2 best coaches in the league match wits. I think it's going to be a great game.

Yes but nobody was hyping the game at all in most of the major media markets, people sort thought they were both 'fluke' teams

both teams have played great to make to the SuperBowl

as with all major sporting finals, heres to hoping it's close game...

when did a balanced team that plays equally Strong defense to go with strong offense become unfashionable..... high powered offenses are nice but where does that get you....

The Dynasty issue will be a debate if the Pats win it all. 2 in 3 years is something special in this era of parity. We probaly wont know the answer to this until a few more years pass.

And maybe it was just me. But I didnt find the Colts nor the Eagles exactly "fun" to watch. The Eagles never threw the ball down field or protect either of their QB's. And Peyton was throwing the ball all over the field except in his recievers hands.
Atleast the Panthers and Pats executed their "boring" game plans to perfection.

I guarantee that this years superbowl will be more exciting than last years.

I'm proud to say I predicted a Carolina vs. New England Super Bowl

(though I predicted it last Sunday night, not at the beginning of the season).

I am actually very much looking forward to the seemingly defensive battle on Feb. 1. I'm tired to shootouts and offensive games. This should be interesting.

It can't be worse than Ravens vs. Giants. Count your blessings.

New England vs Carolina. They could hype it up as being the first superbowl to host two teams that are not named after cities for the first time in history.
