on TNT. I think thats one of the most amazing stats I've ever heard of. A team with a winning record, year after year to lose 17 straight games while being televised on TNT? Blame Barkley?
Actually, it is pretty amazing. The statistical probability of that is pretty ridiculous. It doesn't matter that it doesn't mean anything. And I sincerely doubt that even TNT thinks it will be boost their rating. It's just interesting. Also, stop being a dick.
TNT didn't make the Suns lose 17 games a row on their station. Even if TNT commentators are mentioning it often, it is a pretty amazing stat for a team as good as Phoenix.
That is pretty amazing actually...players know when theyre on national tv and thus play up for the game....thats why you see underdogs play above their expectancy on national tv more often than not. Plus pho had a double digit lead in 4th quarter too
I remember how the used to talk about us always losing on NBC after we won the championships while they were broadcasting the finals.
^Nice contribution to the topic at hand yonizle...you have a cool user name too Anyways, it might be a statistical feat, but by no means does it actually portray the suns season so it means nothing. So what if they lost 17 straight times on TNT? TNT just fooled all of you into actually thinking it was a meaningful statistic..
It's still interesting, whether or not it is meaningful. I'm not going to go out of my way to watch a Suns game on TNT that I wouldn't ordinarily watch. What do you have against TNT?
I live out of town and what kills me is that I'm stuck with games like Wizards vs Warriors and yet how many Rocket games have been able to watch??? Houston is one supposed to be a fun team to watch. An I-45 rivalry vs Wizards/Warriors ?
The Suns are so defensively-challenged that they have become allergic to playing any. They should've won that game last night, why is so hard for them to understand they might actually win more games with defense.
If they lose 17 straight times on TNT while winning over 70% of the rest of their games, that means it probably is a meaningful statistic. The chances of it being sheer coincidence is almost zero. I mean, even if they just had a 1 in 5 chance of winning any of those 17 games, there's only a 2% chance they'd lose all 17. And if, more realistically, they had a 50/50 chance of winning each of the games, then the chances they'd lose 17 straight is like 8 out of a million. That's really bizarre.
Did you just ended a sentence with a preposition? The Bucks have started the past 24 seaons on the road.

I was going to bring this up. I bet a hefty amount of those games have been versus the Spurs or teams the Suns have difficulty with. Still interesting.
