Where do you usually buy your sunglasses and what type do you usually like? I'm not a big sunglass guy (although I do use mine everytime outside) and I don't really care much about how it looks as long as it fits me well and doesn't look geeky. I'm also heading to the lake today with some friends so I might need a new one.
I buy cheap sunglasses since I tend to scratch and break them. I have a big head so I can't work just any sunglasses. They have to be large. Whatever strikes my fancy. I'm currently sporting some cheapo white rimmed jobbies.
I prefer the "Donnie Brasco's"... the ones you get at CVS or many gas stations. Can't beat that look... multi-seasonal. Think Iceman and Maverick... Also Slider and Goose. "The list is long and distinguished my friend... ... Yea? Well so is my Johnson."
I'm good at not losing sunglasses and keeping them in good shape so I go for better quality. Maui Jim. I really do think they are the one of the best quality sun glasses out there. Personally I don't think the bang for the buck can be matched.
My current favorites are a pair of gunmetal Ray-Ban Aviator Cockpits (the slightly smaller aviators). I also got the polarized lenses, which while they are a little more expensive, make a big difference for me. These are my main sunglasses which I keep in my car and wear around town. I also have a pair of Maui Jim Hapuna's which are the plastic, yet rimless versions. I like them because they are basically unbreakable with the really bendy and forgiving "nylon" plastic frames. They are also polarized and are the best sunglasses I own for going to the pool or beach. My other pair is a pair of Oakley Half Jackets. I keep a light rose colored set of lenses that are great for playing golf in (they help you find the ball in the grass). I put in my coal colored lenses to play sports (baseball, etc). I don't wear these as much anymore, but I like them all the same. I don't know why I have such a thing for sunglasses. It may be that I was late to the game switching from eyeglasses to contacts and never had nice sunglasses (always a cheapy framed pair of prescription sunglasses). Once I got contacts and could wear normal sunglasses, I went a little overboard perhaps. One thing I will note, and this may because I wore real eyeglasses for so long, I'm very good at keeping up with my sunglasses, and have yet to lose a pair. (*knocks on wood*)
I have 2 pairs. 1. A Burberry pair that was around $250. 2. A pair I got at the beach this year for like $15. I actually prefer the cheap pair.
I prefer to go out and get myself some big black frames -- with the glass so dark they won't even know my name. Really, the choice is up to you, because they come in two classes: Rhinestone shades Cheap sunglasses
I rock 'em clip ons. One second I'm nerdy. Another I'm baller-ing. Spoiler Oh Snizzapp! now I know how Clark Kent feels.
costas when im active (broke my maui jims ) wayfarers otherwise.... until i lost them at the g*ddamn lake over 4th of july (when i should've been wearing the costas )
You guys ever bought some at Wal-Mart? I'm don't have much time so I'm thinking of just heading over there and grab a quick one.
Oh Hell Yeah!! I got everyone beat on here when we say Cheapo Sunglasses. Wally-world has some for $4.99 (At the time I bought them) Same pairs goes for 14.99 at Academy... I bought 4 Pairs for under $20 bucks... Keep one in each car and 1 at work and my backpack... So damn cheap I don't have to worry about dropping, losing, or breaking them.. They look great too well at least on me because I find it hard to shop for sunglasses even in those specialty stores..
Cheap glasses from Academy My shades must always: 1. be polarized 2. fit comfortably 3. allow me to view out of the corner of my eye 4. let me buy something else with the left over money About $9 to $20 is my range. I won't pay more than $20 for shades I think I might lose soon. I usually go through 2 per year. p.s. khandum gets the square
I always use to buy cheap, my dad would get me the aviator ones at the base...hell, I still have my Rayban aviators like in top gun, back in the 80's...although, to be honest, my head's bigger and they don't fit... but last year I bought some nice ones, some GA and Gucci...well, I had the GA's on my head and they fell on my floor, rough tile and scratched...fock! moral to the story, its a good rule to have at least one good pair of sun glasses, but take care of them...***** is bound to break/scratch...
