I happened upon a website that had designer sunglasses in the $300 range. I thought it was kinda steep. What is the most that you have payed for sunglasses? I'm a 15 dollar guy myself. I've never had an expensive pair. Are they worth it?
The most I ever have paid is $75, but I usually keep my sunglasses in the $15-20 range, simply because I am prone to losing or breaking them at least once a month!
50 would probably be most I would pay. But right now I have bought 5 pairs of the same Walgreens $10 glasses.
i have a pair of maui jims (casual going out shades) and a pair of raybans (with croakies) for the river/lake. both more than $75
When I was 17 I went to Australia on a student trip and I didn't have any sunglasses. My parents had given me a crap load of money to last me for the month long trip. I saw a sweet pair of black Oakley's, this was when they were undeniably the sh*t when it came to sunglasses. I ended up blowing a huge chunk of that money buying them for like a 100 dollars. I don't remember if that was in Australian dollars or if I had figured out the exchange. When I think about what those glasses really cost to make, it's clear that it was a moronic purchase. I ended up losing them or somebody stole them out of my backpack 2 years later while I was in college. I think today, I would be willing to pay between 20 or 30 for a name brand like Fossil.
I spent 150 on a pair of oakleys and I haven't switched since. Have lasted me since early 2002. I am in the market for a new pair though as they are pretty scratched up now but they are definitely durable considering how clumsy I am.
Do you buy your watches from them too? Yes! There is something to be said about a street pair of shades. My wife bought her last pair off the streets and she's had them going on 3 summers now. I'd do it too if my eyes werent so bad.
the best pair of sunglasses i've ever bought (best meaning fits my face/and style), i bought in st. marks...for $10 bucks. no watches for me
