tracy was a year removed from all-nba status. JO hasn't been for 5 years.

If both JO and Tmac return to all star status then I think
Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, and Allen Iverson should give him a call.

oz could give stephon heart, francis a brain, and iverson the courage to come off the bench. and the world will be complete.

Yes, Tim is the best we have on this planet, but he is not God, he is not gonna make something out of nothing. Let's be serious, JO has been already done as an all star and even a star.

If McGrady and O'Neal both return to Elite status, I say we burn Tim Grover at the stake for practicing necromancy.

What earned Tim Grover such repute around the league? (I'm asking this honestly, not rhetorically.)

The three names I hear are Wade, MJ, and Scottie.

I don't find the case of the latter two that impressive considering they were basically two of the most self-driven individuals the league has ever seen. I'm sure he probably designed their workout routine but again, that's not really rocket science for an experienced trainer with knowledge (ie: not wayne hall).

wade got hurt, took a year off and came back strong. but it wasn't like his body was breaking apart with nagging injuries. he had a serious injury and had to sit out. obviously worked his ass off in rehab, yes.

so that's why i'm really curious why he gets the reaction here that he does when people say OMG TRACY IS WORKING OUT WITH GROVER HE WILL DEFINITELY BE TMAC TO THE RACK NOW!!

if this were a case where he rehabilitated a broken down grant hill, penny hardaway, steve francis, or anyone else of that ilk that just completely fell off not due to a major injury but just due to breaking down and starting to suck, then i would understand the commotion.

    an explanation would be appreciated.

I think elite does not mean elite, but rather code for Max Contract.

O'Neal was on the wrong end of a number of those vicious dunks in the SLAM 100 jams of the year.

    He's soft, and washed up.

Not as far fetched as it seems. For those that actually watched the Cavs/Hawks series you would have noticed JO was dominant at times. Sure, he's always been flaky but the talent is still there. Plus, he's only 30-years-old.

Why did he play in the Cavs-Hawks series?

I couldn't believe how many times he got slamed on in that top 100 dunks for last season. He got so many facials Jenna Jameson would be jealous.

Honestly Wade was in trouble and he came back even better than he was pre-injury.

He WAS breaking down. At one point, he had a bad knee, a bad shoulder and tendinitis in the other knee and hyperextended one elbow?

I remember a ridiculous stretch like that.

Grover seems to not only get you in shape, he seems to know exactly what type and amount of muscle you need to tailor to specific players positions.

Also, you can't ignore that part of it is mental - due to his reputation, McGrady will feel more confidenti n his body when he's done working out for the summer. In McGrady's case, confidence is everything.

Plus I believe Grover got Jordan in shape AFTER his baseball venture. Not an easy task IMO considering he wasn't even playing pickup games in that time.

seriously ur post made me LOL... :D

anyway...I really think JO can come back and be effective. I think his game is not as dependent on banging (lol...back to Jenna Jameson) as much as some of the other bigs in the game. his game is more of a face up game. In recent years, his injures have really took its toll, but when he played he was effective. Back when JO was an allstar...I used to love his game. A fast and versatile big.

LOL...brain fart on my part. Anybody that watched the Hawks/Heat series would have seen JO chewing up Al Horford. That's pretty impressive considering how Horford is supposed to be one of the better up-and-coming big men in the league.

He's not soft. I live in Miami, I watch play alot he gets dunked because he goes for every block and 85 % of the time he gets em nasty. I remember game 6 vs the Hawks were he destroyed Josh Smith.
