Hey, basketball hooligans. i have some questions about the roc's summer league team. We've switched to the LA summer league, right? Will there be any TV for the league? Who currently on the squad is expected to play? I hope Griffin goes, I'm anxious to see how much he has improved on his summer vacation.
I do not recall any Shaw / So. Cal Summer League TV coverage last summer. We got some incredible reports from LA'S #1 Rockets Fan. His posting has been sporadic lately so maybe he will be too busy this summer. The dates for this summer league are Saturday, July 6, 2002 - Sunday, July 21, 2002. Their website shows the following NBA teams have already registered: Los Angeles Lakers Los Angeles Clippers Portland Trailblazers Dallas Mavericks Sacramento Kings Houston Rockets Phoenix Suns Memphis Grizzlies Golden State Warriors I assume EG & TMo will be on the team. Tierre Brown?...Collier if he isn't part of a trade...Torres?... #15 if we keep the pick. I can't remember the names of the players who were cut by the Rockets last year, but some of those should return for this league.
I've got a feeling that Griffin has bulked up and has improved his game massively. I see him emerging this year as a star.
If anyone else is interested, you can find the summer league website here : www.summerproleague.com I've been looking at that site ever since I found out we wouldn't be in the RMR this year. The RMR would've been so much easier/better. I can't stand LA. I'm debating heading out there for a week or two (if the boss people let me). I wish they had a schedule posted.
It's very rare to have players with guarenteed contracts on the summer squad unless their rookies. The summer leagues are mostly made up of spares, bubble players, and rookies. Griffin could use the work though so you never know.
