I found these videos posted on another board. These videos were upped to youtube by thetennisyao, who is a member here, but might be a rookie so maybe he couldn't start a thread for them on this board. So I figured I'll start one since sweet looking highlights like these deserve their own thread.

My first reaction is that JLIII is the S***. He looks like a mini-Steve Nash out there with penetrating the lane and throwing up those pull-up fadeaways, as well as displaying some amazing interior passing skills.

If the Rockets let this kid go, it'll be the dumbest thing they've ever done. And after this offseason, that's saying something.

Do not f*** this up CD and Morey. Lock this kid up already.

Summer league highlights? You mean John Lucas III highlights! This guy has excellent ball control. He uses an assortment of advanced moves to get open from mid range and he looks like he'll be great running the pick and roll to drive and dish.

Do you know JL3 personally (from OSU or something) or somehow know that John Lucas III probably will not end up with the Rockets?

Lucas is pretty devestating with that first step off the dribble.

Id only offer him 2 years guaranteed minimum contract or 3 years, but thats pushing it. Anything above the minimum would push into our MLE. Remember this is the summer league.

Lucas has decent game last year with Rox and he showed some signs of being a good player in NBA, that why rox signed him twice 10 day contracts. I think he has highly improved over the offseason and looks confident. We need a PG that can push the ball and create fast breaks that Alston lacks and JL can bring that energy off the bench. Rox was dead last in fast breaks last year and they need an energy guy.....i really hope rox sign Lucas as soon as they can....but from what i heard Lucas's agent might push for more money because of his performance in summer league and i doubt Rox will be willing to pay more.

    Thanks for posting the clips.

He definitely has the quicks no doubt. Can he maintain his confidence in camp?

JL3's got some nice moves. That first step is lightning quick and he used some nice fakes to throw off his man.

*Pavel Podzohkin looks like a giant cancer patient out there.

*Only in the Vegas Summer League can you see the Boniface vs. Haryasz matchup. Fantastic.

If the rumor is true that JL3 has 5 teams interested in him then we wont be able to sign him. JL3 will more than likely go to a team where he will be the second PG off the bench. More than likely the Rockets will try to get V-Span, which would make JL3 the third option. If I were JL3 I would rather go to someplace like Phoenix or Denver, who has shown interest in him, then hardly play at all. He could easily be the 2nd option on either of those teams.

I have always been a fan of the small guards: Tiny Archibald, Calvin Murphy. It makes the game fun to watch when the little guys control a big mans game. Judging by the choice words that JVG and CD have used to describe JL3 and his game, I doubt that JL3 will be playing with us this season. I get the impression that the Rockets think that whatever he does offensively won’t make up for his defensive short comings.
