A guy I played baseball with in Houston happened to mention that he was looking for a summer job there. I figured I could employ the vast resources of this site to help him out. If you know of any places in the Houston area that are hiring, please post it here. Thanks much.

If he dresses in leather and hangs out on Montross and Westheimer, he could make some mega bucks.

If he's just working to make some extra bucks a place like Darque Tan would be great. Not a real great opportunity to make money, but a great opportunity to meet some nice ass.

    I asked first!

j/k dude. I've accepted the fact that I probably won't get a job this summer.

For the Houston guy who is looking for a job - what is his background? What hours can he work? What is he hoping to get paid?

I might be able to help you out.

Threads like these make me remember to finally call CSC so I can schedule some work at Reliant Park for next week.

If you don't mind wonky hours and having to schedule your own hours, as well as not having any certainty of working, try calling 832-667-1570. That's Contemporary Services Corporation. Event Staff/Usher/Ticket Takers/etc at Reliant Stadium/Arena/Center/AstroDome.

It's a pretty fun job. Although it's just a small part time thing.

Here's what I've actually scheduled for for next week.

    Thursday June 24
    Men's Volleyball (US vs Russia)
    6:30am - 10:30pm

    Friday June 25
Warped Tour - Main Street Lots
    6:15am - 7:00pm

    Monday June 28
    Men's Volleyball (US vs Russia)
    6:30am - 10:30pm

About 40+ hours in 3 days. I can usually do long days like that as long as they aren't too close together. 2 long days in a row is fine. More than that, I won't do. You can pick up a bunch of hours in a hurry some times, but at other times, it's very slow.

Perks: You get to attend every Home Texans game. :D Same with Rodeo, etc. If you're lucky like me, you get an awesome spot to "usher" (cough* section 111-112) On the Texans bench side. I basically check tickets, watch the "crowd"*coughgamecoughcough* and basically make sure the guests have a great time.

If all else fails, it doesn't hurt to try. :p
