Has anyone here purchased a suit from Jos A Bank? They have a buy one suit get 2 free deal going on right now which is tempting, but I've never bought anything from there and I don't want to buy a crappy suit, much less THREE of them.
Good quality stuff. They are rather conservative. The biggest thing about a suit is the fit. You can have the best materials in the world and if it doesn't fit right, it will still look cheap. Do you really need 3 suits?
"We were all over him like that cheap suit you got on..." (name that former NBA player) First thing I could think of... Maybe we could do with 3 suits 'cuz some of us DON'T have any suits?
I've said it before, so forgive me if you have read this here. Jo.a.Bank suits are good quality and hold up well. Especially the traveler's suits, they wick away water and dirt like magic. That being said, if you buy a suit from the WILLOWBROOK store, get it altered somewhere else because Prestige Tailors suck ass.* Really POOR alterations and workmanship. *The above is my PERSONAL OPINION based on the "work" done by this tailor shop.
I actually took advantage of this already and got 3 suits yesterday. In addition to the suits, they have a buy 2 get 1 free on shirts and ties as well. I like the sports coat I got from them last February. It seems like good quality and the tailoring at the West Gray store is good (although they have a long turnaround right now due to Ike having shut down a bunch of their other locations).
They make very good suits, and every now and then they give out pretty good deals like the one you just referenced. It's hard for me to find a good off the rack suit, but Jos A Bank ones work pretty well for me. One of these days I'm going to run over there and get me a grey pinstriped 2-button, 1-pleat suit.
I am a TV sports anchor down in the Valley and the suits they buy for me are from JOS A. Bank. They aren't a sponsor or anything, but they do make good quality suits for low prices. They always have GREAT sales...I would check em out. I had never shopped there until I started working at my current station, and now I buy a new item every couple of months because I like their selection and of course the price. My store has a very good tailor, but make sure you go to a tailor you trust, don't necessarily use the one at the store. Jos Bank also has given me great customer service, getting lost buttons mailed to me etc. Hope this helps.
I've had the same suit for a while now. Recruiting is coming up so I'll be wearing suits to all my interviews - it would be nice to have a couple different suits to choose from.
Thanks for your responses, I'll be heading there in a bit. I'll let you guys know if I find anything good.
Jos. A. Banks makes great suits. I've seen partners at major downtown law firms wearing them. If you need a suit, you can't go wrong with Jos. A. Banks. The only people who buy suits nicer than those at Jos. A. Banks do so only after they've already got a closet-full of suits.
I don't care for their executive collection suits at all, but their Signature Collection is great. Usually $800-$1000 but you can find them for $350-$500 on sale at least once a month. Great suits that hold up well and look great I don't think their Executive Collection suits hold up well and they look and feel kind of scratchy
I have my only suit from Jos A Bank and can't say I've had any problems with it. Of course, I don't know if I could tell a crap suit from a nice suit unless it was something from Sears.
If you need a tailor in Houston inside the loop, I highly recommend Saigon Tailors on Main and W. Alabama. They did a great job on the alterations for my last suit.
