What about Rick Brunson? Sure, not high aspirations, but he's a really solid player. He's a 6-4 point guard who plays good D, distributes the ball, and at least shoots 33% from beyond the arc, next to Moochie's 29%. I think he'd be a perfect fit. I'd still draft a shooting guard, but with Brunson we at least know we're getting someone reliable.
wouldn't call him a "perfect" fit. never stuck around with one team for more than a couple seasons. from what i saw of him last year, he wasn't horrible. steady, heady, but not particularly talented, and not that much of an upgrade from the mooch, if at all. sorry to beat a dead horse (and it is very very dead), but imo the perfect, remotely plausible fit is alvin williams. he solves our need for a backup 1 and 2. we'd have one of the best 3 guard sets in the league with him, Francis and Mobley, and these days, to compete in the West your team's backups need to be solid with depth becoming an ever growing necessity. you can read verse's and my term papers on the topic from a post a couple days ago.
Yeah well, I was just mentioning Brunson because we don't really have to give up anything to get him. Williams, on the other hand, I think we'd need to give away some possible starters just to get a third guard who could play less than 20 mpg, assuming Francis and Mobley keep playing 41 mpg each. I you wanna talk about trading for somebody, I still say Marko Jaric. Maybe if I say it enough times it'll happen. I still think picking up Brunson for the minumum for 1 season would not be a bad investment, though.
