Since he's already eliminated the hand check, and any form of perimeter defense... why not eliminate the vast amount of contact created down low by post up players fighting for position (ie - defending Yao Ming). Some of the stuff going on down there is far more vicious then any "touch foul" that gets whistled about 10 times a game. There's hooking, grabbing, pushing, and probably gnawing and eye-scratchin as well. It would definitely make the Miami and Houston games more watchable (since those are the only two centers that still have to fight for position), and it would make this completely a finnese league.
agreed. u cant put 2 hands for a sec on a guard..but u can hook a 7'6 guy down to the floor and still no foul.
Yeah, weren't these new rules put in place so scoring would be increased? So why is it every time the Spurs and Rockets play, neither team breaks 90?
True... and Yao Ming scoring 40 points a night (which he could concievably due, if they eliminate the extreme fronting/physicality that teams try to use on him) will make David Stern more money than Lebron, Kobe, Shaq, and Duncan combined.
