I wonder if the Rockets and the Lakers might work out a deal where we send them SENGUN, PORTER and
TATE, they send the Rockets Hachimaura and Reaves. We pay Reaves 15mil for his first season, which is what he has been hoping
for! Hachimaura would get a contract from Rockets starting at 12.8 mil for his first season? What do you think?

Rather keep KPJ and use him in his appropriate position (two guard off the bench)

I dunno, it all kinda depends on where they fall in the draft and who they might be able to sign in FA ...

IF Harden comes back do you still want Reaves?

Do you prefer Reaves over Harden?

IF you end up #3 in the draft and pick Brandon Miller do you want Hachimaura when you have Eason, Tate & Martin @ the 3 spot too. I think you are going a different direction in that scenario.

What about the Bridges & Brown idea's?

If you trade for Bridges you probably want Reaves (assuming no Harden) but I dunno if that stands if you end up with Brown? Are they a match?

Reaves is certainly a cheaper financial option to some of the others .... just wonder how he would fit with other acquisitions.

This offseason will be interesting for certain.

I don’t think we would need to include Porter, maybe Sengun and the Clippers pick. This is one of the few Sengun trade proposals I’m ok with just because of how high I am on Reeves.

Guys who can pass, shoot and get to the line and always give 100% effort on defense will never drop in value. They have always been and will always be valuable. There are no examples in NBA history of such players not being worth a lot more than the MLE.

Especially someone with infinite self-motivation. That can be infectious.

Well . . . . I guess the question is . . .What do you think his RANGE is?
    20 Mill/4 years or
    20 mill a year?

Are we willing to overpay in a sense

Sign and trade w/Lakers? That way we secure Reaves while consolidating some of our assets into a small package. We have a plethora of 2nd round picks as well. Still have to overpay Reaves but we also would be sending out contracts of players who won't be getting enough playing time or won't be able to or want to pay. Hopefully we could do something like $51 million/3 yrs w/a player option.

He could be out of our range because there comes a time where he may be worth an overpay to a contender that's over the cap, but not to a rebuilding team.

For example, the Bucks may decide he's perfect for their team and offer $25m per season in SnT. That may not be worth it for us since we are below the cap and don't have our franchise players in place yet.

You make him the right offer and you eliminate the need to give the Flakers any assets - you can use them in another deal instead.

    I think they'd match 3/51 and even 3/60.

You'd probably have to get into the 4/100 range to cause them not to match.

Guys, guys, guys. We have to get this kid. Wtf? He's a killer role player in the playoffs. Udoka loves toughness, he wants his teams to mimic the way he played basketball. This kid is tough as nails and drinks pressure. We need some stabilizing players like that who never stops chasing the opponent and attacks them if they rest on him. We need players who will make others look bad just by setting the standard for effort really really high without being a liability on the court.

If we have struck out on star players and have money left to spend, I'm giving Austin Reaves $20m per season and that contract will eternally be a net positive. I'm not paying FVV a dime over this guy, you can see Reaves is not going to let fame get to his head. He's an excellent piece to put next to Jalen and Sengun. I thought Reaves' game was so much more about effort but this kid is making 3's and getting to the line in the playoffs while taking on the hardest defensive assignment.

He's averaging 17.8 points on 12.8 shots (TS% 60.3) and 4 assists to 1.3 TO's and good defense in the playoffs against the #3 seed? If we're signing role players, this is our role player. Love this kid. Snatch him from the Lakers.

I'm not sure $20m is enough, the Lakers probably match that ....

If I'm guesstimating correctly, Pelinka will NOT let Russell walk and that will make $20m starting salary extremely painful to match (i.e. damn near 4 years $100m). They have other role players they need to keep too because these are the guys Pelinka convinced the organization they need for depth. If Pelinka is dumb - and I strongly believe he is - then he will prioritize Russell.

Anyhow, I would give him what the market dictates if we're struck out on top FA's and all that's left over is Harden or something.

Definitely think we should be raiding restricted free agency pretty hard in the offseason. My preferred targets would be Cam Johnson and Tre Jones though, depending on what draft pick we get. Reaves, I don't know. I think he's getting a lot of hype because it's LA. They always hype anybody who shows anything. He's only a second-year player, but he's also almost 25. This dude is starting his prime 25-29 age range next year. Maybe he's got some more growth left since he has a pretty low amount of NBA experience. Or maybe teams will start gameplanning for him and he'll drop off like Linsanity. Either outcome is a real possibility. Big gamble paying an undrafted free agent $$$$$ for 64 games of good-but-unspectacular play.

    Jeremy Lin 2.0, imo.
