On my way back from Sugar Land earlier today, I saw a guy in a Civic being pulled over by this 'stealth' looking Dodge Charger muscle car. So, I tried to find something about it on the Internet, and came across this: http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/tools/np/program/view.asp?ID=11369 So, if you live in Sugarland or commute to/from it, be careful, you can't even see the markings on the side of the vehicle until you're close to it, I think it will be used primarily to enforce speed limits on the US59. BTW, that's a nice car...
I saw the Civic getting pulled over too. Those things are really nice like you mentioned, and it also seems like they have radar jammers since mine didn't beep or anything. I also saw the same car stop a G35 on the Hwy 6 exit.
I hate Sugar Land cops. They already hide all over the place at night, including in the medians, with their lights off.
They have similar "stealth" cop cars here in Austin. Except they're black clearcoat with black matte finish lettering on the sides, so you can only see the word "police" if the light is just right. They seem to lurk in the north MoPac area. Consider yourself warned.
Those have been out there for a while. Like mentioned, you can't even detect those. I can't imagine those being considered marked cop cars.
i saw that charger today. he had pulled someone over at 59 south. all the lights are at the bottom of the front windshield. pretty sweet machine.
While they sit around with their thumbs up their butts waiting for someone to speed, someone is getting robbed, killed, or beat-up. They should be out patrolling not just sitting around snoozing.
Got pulled over for passing one up. Gave me just a warning cuz I told him I was driving to an interview in dallas and cuz I wasn't really going that much faster. Only 8 over.
I think there is some argument to be made about police ticket quotas each officer needs to attain. Officially, there is no quota, but then again there is no fight club.
I thought I heard that the NYPD is interested in making making the Charger their new squad car. Here it is, just had to do a quick search: http://www.officer.com/article/article.jsp?siteSection=2&id=28545
OK. That sounds cool. But... how are they supposed to be catching someone who is getting robbed or killed or beat up? Are they supposed to be EVERYWHERE? That's a generalization, though. I believe dispatch takes care of that. I got no ties to any police anything, so I am only saying that if you don't break the law, you shouldn't complain once they stop you. They CAN, however, be parked somewhere saving you and taxpayers some patrolling gas money. No?
