Wegman's Subs! CASE CLOSED. I realize that 99% of the board has never heard of Wegman's Subs, so I'll add this: Subways puts absolutely nothing on their subs. That's what makes them suck. I asked for banana peppers once and asked for as many as she could put on my footlong. I got 5. I haven't been back since. Now, for me, it's Wegman's (where I work), or any of the 5000 local pizza and wings joints (A perk to living in a town full of Italians).
I ate Subway every day for dinner 2 years ago. I'm so sick of it now I can't stand it. Then I went through this Quiznos phase, but got tired of that too. Plus, Quiznos is really expensive. Now I stick with Jimmy Johns. I only eat tuna anyways. Every other meat doesn't really have a taste to it.
Tell me about it! Today I stopped by Subway for a quick dinner but their toaster oven was broken so I decided to go to the enemy for a sandwich. I was shocked when my BBQ sandwich was $6.99
Are you kidding me? I used to load up my Subways entirely. They couldn't even close the damn sandwhich up it was that big! But that's because I used to get every veggie and lots of it. You just got to ask for more, it's free.
I think the greater expense of Quizno's is worth it. The best sub ever is at Quiznos. I forget the name...but it has turkey, onions, tomatoes, provolone, and roasted red pepper sauce. DELISH. I get subway's sometimes, but their 6 inch turkeys always seem to be 1) lacking in vegetables and 2) not 6 inches.
And the only bread I ever get at Subway is wheat. It seems like that's the only bread that's properly baked. Honey wheat is good too, but tastes funny with all the sauces I get. I don't even know why I care, I haven't had Subway in over a year...
i agree, even tho subway doesnt really put a lot in their sandwiches, i like it bc they keep it simple, plus, your trying to eat healthy so whats the points with having lots of meat or cheese in it.
I think it's a Nothern thing actually. I never remembered Subways in Texas being stingy on their veggies. Once I moved up here, I noticed it. Also, we drove down to Houston from New York, and we stopped in Tennessee to get a sub at a Subway, and they loaded stuff on there for me. I think that's why I think it's just Subways up here.
Of those two, Quizno's. But To-Go's in California is the best. In Houston, the best value is Potbelly's.
Italian Herbs and Cheese is good too. The only problem with Subway is two hours after eating you are hungry again.
Quiznos is tempting, but i go to Subway more, even though they barely put ANY meat on it. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_mhaIo4ggPA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_mhaIo4ggPA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> Quiznos makes a good point.
Subway, because it's healthy. I haven't noticed them being stingy on the veggies either, usually they can barely close the bread,
Ive just noticed this Potbelly's place appear in houston. How much does a meal tend to cost over there?
