Just wanted to share my story bout what just happened. I am in sales, and having a productive day - about to nail 2 big contracts- weather is sunshine & great - get a call from the wife that the alarm went off & whether I went to the house? I usually do eat at home for lunch such as where I am now, (being out & about during work hours) nope, & couldn't happen at a worse time. In front of someone about to give me a $16,000 sale, and all I could think of is what is going on at my house - I ended the face-to-face pretty well, and we finalize details, then he leaves - I go back to my office to call my wife and she then says the police are dispatched to the house - I was planning on buying something & bringing it back to the office, but decide to vamos to the house As I am driving, all these images are going thru my head- my pupils dilate & I hope the police isn't there with a report of loss or whatever. - Get there, & no police. . .weird. . I open garage, and cautiously enter- I then quickly grab my stashed Glock 17 and sweep every room ...finally relief no body here- then I realized the police left a note stating they just checked things out & it appeared the heavy wind pushed the stupid back door enough (even tho it was still locked) - Obviously, I need a new back door that won't flex in wind & I plan on purchasing this, but Man....my heart was racing! anyways, just ate lunch at home- bout to head back, but yea,...glad it wasn't worse.
so let me get this straight, you got the sale deal done. Your house is fine. Your stomach is full. WTFFFFFF!!!!!!
Ahh the trusty Glock 17. Never leave home without it. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gKOwk0v3aeI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Similar thing happened when I moved into my current house...except it was the heating from the sun that was causing one of the window sensors to fault. This happened for about ten days before the alarm people figured out what was going on. Same time, each day the house alarm would go nuts...and of course no one was at home so we'd get a call from the alarm people asking if we wanted someone dispatched. Glad you got to throw down some lunch to celebrate your deal.
Is this the first time you've ever had your house alarm go off? Sweeping the house with your glock? I think you might have overreacted a tad. 1) If someone broke in and the alarm went off, they were long gone by the time you got home 2) 99.99% of alarms set off are false alarms
one night around 2:30 my house alarm went off. of course my girlfriend was freaking out and i jumped out of bed as fast as i could then grabbed my bat. i opened the bedroom door, scanned the living room, and noticed my dog just standing there staring back at me. wtf? waited about another minute longer and did not notice any other noise, except the alarm. i decided it was safe to go out. i could see the back door wide open. searched every room, found nothing. after the initial shock and putting two and two together, i basically concluded that the back door was closed just enough to allow me to turn the alarm on but it didn't latch. plus, my dog never made a sound during the whole ordeal. but it was definitely a *hit staining moment.
You should train your wife to defend herself without you. Give her your Glock and then you have an excuse to upgrade
Your dog was probably preparing to **** on your wife's face then got spooked. Why else would he stare at you like that?
