There is nothing cool about burning flags. And for someone who allegedly hates "brown" people, I favor looser, legal immigration. Bring 'em on! http://kvoa.com/global/story.asp?s=4747748&ClientType=Printable
This just keeps getting better and better for the Democrats. Given that the last two elections were narrow victories, the Republicans assuradly wouldn't have won without a notable portion of hispanics that voted Republican. Historically, hispanics are nearly split 50/50 in voting for Dems vs. Repubs. But I suspect that will now change. The hispanics will assuradly see that Republicans have no respect for brown skin people. ...or at least they have a funny way of showing it.
Not to be an alarmist or anything, but I only hope that this tension doesn't turn into a racial confrontation sooner or later...judging by a few interviews/articles I have read or come across on TV, there's a danger of that happening.
In this case, it appeared to be a deliberate attempt at provoking a violent response by the "Border Guardians." (whoever the hell they are) I share your concern. The peaceful nature of these huge demonstrations has been a testament to the value of peaceful protest. They are getting attention paid to their cause, and without violence. I think that's great. To tell you the truth, that some fringe groups opposed to the agenda of those demonstrations would attempt to provoke violence (which is what they were trying to do, IMHO) is not surprising. I hope they fail in their attempts. Keep D&D Civil.
It's pretty sad that people find the most ridiculous issues to inspire them to vote, especially when it's comments like these that expose them as people who are afraid of losing control.
Watched me some FoxNews at lunch, then hurled it up (I'm trying to lose weight). Their headline was "Illegals March." The whole of their coverage was designed to give the impression that every person taking part in today's events is an illegal aliens.
I saw the same thing at the gym while exercising before work this morning. Looks like an early attempt to get the mongoloid vote this November. The best picture I saw of the protests was in this morning's Chronicle.....a picture of a Latino male, in his 70s or 80s in a wheelchair being pushed by his grandson, holding an American flag and a sign that read World War II Veteran Wonder when that will show up on Faux News? I bet.....never!
Saw a report yesterday that said 5% of American solders killed in Iraq are illegal immigrants in the military. These brave muthafukers are dying for a country that isn’t even theirs.
we all should be much more nationalistic. and be more wary of people who don't look like us. you're all evil. there's no hope.
Regarding your signature (politics is show business for ugly people)... I've often construed a syllogism that the miiltary is gang-life for the upright.
Hey...you don't look like me....you wear glasses in public!!! "Hello? Alberto Gonzales?? RocketMan Tex here....."
You know what? Our country was founded on immigrants, and the people trying to get into our country are generally willing to work very hard to make it. I say let em in...bring em on, we need hard working American's of any skin color. DD
I agree with you. Whatever happened to "Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free"? Couple that with the fact that the US-Mexico border has been wide open since 1776.
Great, who are the Border Guardians and why did they pick Tucson? Just what I need, a bunch of radical militiamen running around my new home town. Here is the story of the Tucson march from the Tucson morning newspaper. link
doesn't a militia have to carry weapons? if the guardians are the same as minutemen, they don't carry guns.... just water, telephone, and binoculars... maybe a lawn chair to sit on too???
OK, so they are bunch of antagonists trying to start trouble. Oh well, they have the right to their opinion. I am pretty sure they are out numbered too.
