Is it too late to consolidate student loans? I remember a big fuss being made about this last year, maybe because it was the last year for something in the student loan market. I don't know. Anyway, I should be graduating next year and am wondering if this is still possible, especially with me still in school. Will I still be able to save any money? What company should I go with?
why would you consolidate student loans? I can't think of anyway you could get a possibly lower interest rate.
You can consolidate student loans at any time. The big fuss was probably because they wanted to lock in lower rates before an increase. If they are federal student loans, then you should absolutely consolidate. It would be financially stupid not to consolidate (b/c of all the built in perks plus a 25-30 year repayment will lower monthly bills)
