Wasn't sure where to put this, since the kid is still in High school, but this kid should get props for starting on his basketball team with one arm. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4VfIeKYli6Q"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4VfIeKYli6Q" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Isn't there a 1 armed college basketball player somewhere in Utah right now? Thought I remembered a thread about it a while back. I might have misremembered, though.
Yeah, I remember that...very impressive. That guy, however, did have half of his arm to help him pick the ball up and use for support...this guy is completely one-armed.
Well, that guy is just missing his left hand (I think he has the nub of one finger too). He still uses it as a guide "hand" for his shots and he uses it on defense. This kid in the video is more impressive with his ability to corral the ball and get it into shooting position without the aid of another hand/stub.
He has a much better jumpshot than me... just proves how hard hes been working and practicing, basically going against all odds
dude deserves a scholarship more than this moron: http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB120485166974418241-lMyQjAxMDI4MDA0NzgwNTcxWj.html
Incredible that he can even play like that, but c'mon...that looked more like a middle school game than a high school game. No way he would ever score 16 points on any team I was ever on...I mean, all you have to do shade him to his left and what's he gonna do?
Unbelievable. Not only is it utterly amazing that he's able to shoot and play like that but that he's able to run effectively as well. Coming from a lifelong track runner, believe me when I tell you that even the slightest injury or disadvantage can throw off your running form severely. I spent four years in college getting lectured about my unusual running form was slowing me down -- I can't imagine what it would be like running with only one arm.
I played at the rec in college against a one-armed guy. He had his left and his right was a nub at the elbow. Somehow he would still cross me over from time to time. Looking back, how the hell did he do that?
