Instead of giving more money to yet another unproven center. Why not give Cato a chance? He had some very bright moments as well as some very not so bright moments. Last year he was injured. I say we bring Venson Hamilton to camp. Pretty sure he would probably play hard any chance he gets because he won't get to many chances. Plus, not bringing another center in from another team might give Cato some confidence. Let's face it, he has taken a lot ridicule from the media and others. He is still a young player, maybe we should give him a chance. JMO, better than spending money on another unproven center or Collier.

that's probably an option that some in Rocks management are thinking about. I don't know how many chances you should give a guy when all he does is suck. Even in his best games last year statistically, his counterparts on the other teams were having better games than him. I haven't checked on this yet, but I only think he had two good games: at Atlanta and home against Indiana. Well, I it's a possibility, but not one many people would be up for at all.

It's certainly hard to understand why he isn't better than he is. From an apologist's standpoint, perhaps his injury hobbled him more than we would think?

Everyone seems to agree that he's a good athlete and has the right body to be a good center. I'd like to think that it's impossible to be as lazy and unconcerned as he appears. Can anyone say what his attitude has been in practices? Is he dogging it? Or does he play hard?

I'm not saying I wouldn't regret seeing him go, but my biggest feeling towards Cato is one of wonderment at seeing potential go completely unfulfilled so far. Do we have anyone on our team capable of lighting a fire under players, a la Oakley?

Perhaps this is one of the places where Stevie Franchise needs to step up in a leadership role. *shrug*

With him, we have one of the most athletic starting five in the game. However, we do not have our draft pick this year. We cannot take the risk on Cato. We need an alternative option. I would hate to gave away a high lottery pick. Or is it a low pick? Anyways, CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT KIND OF TEAM WE WOULD HAVE IF CATO WOULD PLAY AS WELL AS HE GETS PAID?

I am depressed with this. We know that we will get 1 pt, 0 reb, and 1 block on the air and 20 fouls a week from our starting center if Cato starts.

I would like to see him start actually. Maybe that's what he needs to get motivated. Although, if Collier is healthy and can perform like he did early on last season, I think he'd be a better player than Cato.

I think the Rocks will probably bring some extra centers to camp and sign one of them. Perhaps Axel Dench or one of the other summer league guys.

At one of the Jazz games last year, I watched Rudy call a huddle. He pulled everyone in around himself, he didn't meet them midbench.

Cato lumbered from the last chair to about 3' from the periphery of scrubs in front of him. He stood outside of the huddle, outside of the core players, outside of the group that would not be playing later (Cato played, but that sulky way).

When the buzzer went off, Cato went back to his seat, even though the huddle was still together. It was very obvious that he hadn't payed a damn bit of attention to Rudy. Rudy wrapped up for an extra few moments (less than a few seconds) and disbanded the huddle. In person, those few seconds that Cato could not stand up to listen to Rudy were a lonnnng few seconds.

I waiver on Cato, just because I know that he does have skill. If there's a chance in hell of getting rid of him though, I think that I speak for 98% of all Rockets fans when I say take it. Regardless of the guy's potential, the guy has emotional/mental problems. Get rid of him.

If he turns into something great somewhere else, wonderful. Unfortuntately he's a waste here.

The prospect of Cato at center makes me a little nervous. But if he never plays we can never get a return on his contract, nor can we expect to trade him.

I for one feel we need to play Cato, but we do need some kind of insurance.

But with names like Jelani McCoy being mentioned, I would like to add one more: sign-and-trade Maurice Taylor for Robert Horry. What we lose in scoring we would make up defensively at the power forward and he could also play some minutes at center. Horry also has a 3pt shot which Taylor lacks and would bring a player from our championship years that still fits the puzzle.

    HEEEEEEEEEEEELLL NO!

why in the hell do you want to give the lakers another good power forward??? do you ever plan on beating them???

you're talking about trading a good, mid-20s improving power forward for a declining SF who plays some PF and only shows up in the playoffs????

dude, i'd like to have horry for free, or maybe for a scrub. but for mo tay???

    HEEEEEEEEEEEELLL NO!

what have you been smoking man???
we do not trade MO period
he has great chemistry, good offensively, average defensively, has trouble rebounding but is young, and WANTS TO IMPROVE (cato)
moochie we should really keep, but there are plenty of backup pgs in the league if he leaves, but i dont think he will
    shandon
hes aight, we can let him go, we already have too many 2/3s

and horry is nice, but read what verse said. cause thats the truth
