Are you stuck in the past? Do you think that feathered hair and the band Journey are the best things since unfiltered cigs? Do you think that TV ended when M.A.S.H. went off the air? Still rockin' your 86 Camaro? Post your story here.
I admit that I am stuck in the past as a Rockets fan. Man how I long for the Clutch City days. I feel bad for the posters in the GARM who are too young to remember them and think that the days of Yao and TMac are the "good ol' days" and, for some reason, consider Bob Freakin' Sura a Rocket legend.
Nah, man. Rockin' this style in 2012 and thinking Journey is the greatest band ever makes you stuck in the past. Spoiler Don't. Stop. Beleeevin. Good one. (I never said that longing for the 'glory years' was bad)
You have to admit that the Hakeem Olajuwon years at UH and the The Rockets will probably be the high point of basketball in Houston, forever. You'd probably say that the music of the late 60's and early 70's is the high point of Rock, forever. (pre-Journey) And I doubt that any kids will ever have a better time than the Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll generation. We didn't give a thought to anything financial, never worried about a job or student loans or retirement. But in reality, there is no past or future just an ever changing now. Live for today.
The two greatest bands to ever come out of the USA are DEVO and Sparks. There. I said it. Also, my favorite football team of all time is the Houston Oilers.
I'm definitely stuck in the past in regards to Houston sports. I haven't cared about the Astros since they lost to Kevin Brown and the Padres. My fanaticism for the Rockets took a hit after the Utah series. I still miss the Oilers. I'm still a fan of these teams (replace Oilers with Texans), but I refuse to invest too much emotional capital until I'm certain the payoff is likely to happen.
...and are you stuck in your OWN past? We live in a world of remixes and remakes, businessmen hiding in the 'creative' industries and buying mansions off of our nostalgia.
I am stuck in the past with video games. I never really got out of the NES era and get frustrated with a lot of 3D games.
Radio: Is the disco fever over yet? Sports: I'll watch when the Oilers come back. Kitchen: I'm still washing these dishes before they go into the dishwasher!!! Women: I was a milf'r before milf'ring was cool Transport: I really MISS my 66 Catalina ragtop. best.car.ever. Entertainment: Still have my big bamboo paper Work: You want a what? A Goody Gum Drop????? Here, drink this Old Fashion.
I'm posting this while wearing red parachute pants, a neon looking 80s shirt, a red bandana, and VANS checkered shoes. And, I'm at work and people are looking at me funny. Why?
