From Insider: mike (houston): people are beginning to wonder about yao ming, a good but so far not a great player. what do you think he needs to do to step up his game? stuart: get meaner. I don't mean flagrant fouls, but more intense. stuart: Dunk on someone, Yao, then stare at him. I'm kidding. You don't have to stare, but do throw a glance their way, and stop getting dunked on so much yourself.
That dunk on ratliff was Yao's best moment in the NBA, by far. it's a microcosm of the direction he must head.
My advice to Stuart Scott: quit ripping off whatever rap lyric is hot this week and passing it off as sports commentary. make sure that anyone involved with espn's NBA halftime show watches at least 5 recent games before commenting on a player.
SS is right on point. Yao needs to start dunking on people. Even more he needs to make sure people know that when they come into the lane it's not open season for the next Sports Center top 10 play of the day. I'm not saying go Chaney on anyone but make them work it...
Agreed, I loved that moment - man it was great Do you guys think that if the roles were switched, Theo would have got a T if he stared down Yao after a dunk
I don't really take SS serious, because he doesn't appear to be serious most of the time. Of all the advise that one could give, he decides to pick a change in attitude? Granted I like to see the big man throw it down as much as the next guy, but Yao needs some coaching on the defensive side of the ball.
I think it's brilliant! What an idea! And I was there! He took the idea! He saw it ripe on the tree, he plucked it, and he put it in his pocket. It's, it's, dare I say... genius? Ah, no, no! But maybe, ooh! ah! maybe it is! Maybe I'm in the presence of greatness, maybe I just don't know it. But I saw it...
Stuart Scott is a moron and the most irritating sports broadcaster in history. How does this guy have a career?
i thought Scott would love Yao to get dunked on more since Sportcenter only does two things 1) lick Lebron James' ass and 2) make fun of Yao Stuart Scott, Linda Cohn and that b**** Neil Everett gets on my nerves.
