I heard on One-on-One sports tonight (610 - on the way home from EFUS - about 11:20) that Stromile Swift may revoke his NBA Draft status. I'm not really sure how this works (I didn't think this was possible this late), but that's what whomever it was on the radio said. He seemed pretty sure of it.

If this happens, what does this mean for the Rockets? It probably assures that Miles will be LOOOONG gone by 9 (I think he's going first no matter what), and our top picks all slip down one notch.

I heard something like that too, but I really wasnt paying attention so I don't know. But I think he can take himself out of the Draft because he does not have an agent. I thought though, that the last day to revoke was a week before the draft. If thats the case then he is going to have to do it by wednesday. If he does do that this whole draft can get messed up. Kenyon, Mihm, Fizer, Miles, Pryzbilla, Miller, Demarr, and Courney are sure to be gone. Moiso I dont belive is going to be that good (just a hunch). In that case trade our pick for a future rounder. Also if Swift undeclares I hope Magic and Pistons dont try to relay their pick to us.

Well he is having a press conference tomorrow. The deadline is tomorrow so I wouldnt be shocked if he went back to school. From what I have heard is that he was still working out with teammates in LSU. So maybe he could go back.

I HOPE HE GOES BACK TO SCHOOL, Seriously he is not ready for the nba yet. He can get better and come back. I wish he makes the right decision.

I have three thoughts on what he should do.
1)He should go back to school if there is no possible way we can trade up to draft him.

2)My college team is Kentucky so the idea of him going back to the SEC amkes me nausious.

3)There have been a few Vancouver fans on this board(not all, just some) since the regular season ended that have made more infuriated than a Siv, so the idea of him going back to school atleast gives me the gratification that each and every one of those Vancouver fans have gotten screwed over this year.

I'm curious as to what that would mean in terms of our chances of moving up to #3 slot.

I mean, if Swift undeclares and New Jersey plucks Martin with the top pick, I'm pretty sure Vancouver would pick up Fizer, leaving Los Angeles without a quality replacement for Taylor.

    Could be good for us.

While I cant think of a more coninvcing reason to go back to school to at least screw the Vancouver fans, I personally think it is in Swifts best interest to stay.

HE is a number 1, 2, or 3 pick this year undoubtedly. Next year, as good as he is, with the crop of big men coming out, he could drop. LEt him come out now and refine his gam ein the NBA and get more cash at the same time.

It just sucks for us cuz we have an even lower chance of gettin Miller, Miles, or Dermarr. If we're gettin Moiso, then he'll still prolly be there.

    Davo is right of course.

But if we had an opportunity to pick up another pick or two this draft, I am not sure the Rockets wouldn't take them.

    Scenarios:

    1. keep the #9, and #10(or#13) and #14 to get some needed holes filled with availables.(Moiso,Collier,OO,So Sam)
    2. keep one of the picks and trade the one or two remaining picks to move up.
    3. trade them all to get a major move up.
    4. keep one and trade all others to get a nondrafting team's first rounder next year(Warriors).

Just a Thought But: Maybe Swift is introducing his sports agent. But if he is not, it sure changes the complexion of the first ten places and the interest in those first five places. A whole lot!! [IMG]
