Had a quick question and there is no better place to ask than CF! Went to Centerfolds last night for a few minutes and bought some drinks on my debit card (doh). This morning I looked (first damn thing I did) at my account summary and saw a $200 pending charge. Since I am not a strip club connoisseur I ask, is this some kind of policy and the $200 will be readjusted shortly? Or do they often charge $200 hoping the client won't dispute it from embarrassment, meaning if I do go in and argue I can easily recoup the money? Is there some kind of rule they gigd me on in which I genuinely owe them that $200? Whats the deal? What do I do? I have my receipt for the drinks, $30 Pasties on t*** isn't worth 200 Thanks in advance for the help, sorry I don't have an interesting thread for y'all. Just need some help.
I would imagine they pre-authorized a $200 charge.. if it goes through as an actual charge of $200, contest it.
yeah, i bought a few drinks myself. Thanks Ziggy! I dont patronize places like those often, but I never ever ever never ever never never ever give them my card. Atleast id try not to.
Trust me - strip club chicanery = a losing battle. A few years ago I lost 5-600$ in one due to overcharges. The subsequent complaints were a waste of effort I haven't been to one since and don't miss it any. Just take it as a life lesson and move on. And away from strip clubs.
I am a fighter. My friend was also charged the $200. I was just hoping it was a pre-authorization type deal and it would be readjusted. If not Ill dispute it with my bank and strip club. Wells Fargo can probably help me establish some clout, we'll see.
I've been spoiled. I can no longer go to strip clubs unless they wave the no touching rule. I'm not going to spend $20 to just look at t*tties and have her sit on my lap. My hands need to be grabbing something.
Seconded! Couldn't say it better myself. Although it varies from dancer to dancer. With some you get more milage than with others.
isn't a pretty clear case that they overcharged you? if you have your receipt, this shouldn't be that much of a battle or a dilemma. whether it's a bar, club, restaurant or strip club, it's all the same- you didn't authorize the charge...
Bank with WF? When ever we get stories like this, you usually have to file a fraud claim after the 200 is taken from your account and then they will investigate the situation. Hopefully get your money back too.
Yeah. What a n00b. Rule # 1 is always pay in cash. Rule # 2 is only bring the amount you plan on spending (in other words, leave the credit/debit cards at home).
I called, she said it was a pre-auth. We'll see what happens. Shouldn't they have to warn you though? I mean what if I only had $50 in my account that could cause problems. Especially if someone didn't have any overdraft protection. Anyways, I won't rest easy until I actually see the readjustment. Lame. Trust me I know not to dish out the cards at a club but this was spur of the moment and who carries cash anymore. Thanks for the help. If anyone comes along that has experience with charges like this feel free to post and hopefully give me some piece of mind.
Oh and two women were performing oral sex on each other upstairs I should have took a picture for blackmail purposes. Sigh... Also, that 3ft no touch rule didn't seem to be in effect at Centerfolds.
As in watched the Rockets game at a bar, someone says hey lets go to a strip club, 20min later I am out $200.
